CGS (Costeas-Geitonas School, in Greek Εκπαιδευτήρια Κωστέα-Γείτονα) is one of the largest private schools in Greece. It was founded in 1973 in Marousi and since 1981 has been on its own campus in Pallini, about twenty kilometres from central Athens; it is part of Inspired Education Group. The school runs all three IB programmes: the PYP (the first in Greece, authorised in 2011), the MYP (since 2014) and the IB Diploma Programme (since 1994), alongside the Greek national curriculum. Language of instruction according to the school profile: the PYP pre-school classes are bilingual (English and Greek), primary school and the MYP are taught mainly in Greek, and the IB Diploma Programme and the preparatory Pre-IB DP are taught entirely in English. In its 2024-2025 profile the school gives 1975 students; most are Greek nationals, but there is a growing international and bicultural student population from North America, Europe and Asia. By September 2028 the school is opening a second campus, CGS at the Ellinikon, with a dual Greek and international curriculum.

Admissions The school writes that it accepts students «ανεξαρτήτως φύλου, χρώματος, φυλής, θρησκείας ή εθνικότητας» - «regardless of gender, colour, race, religion or nationality», and that students from other public and private schools in Greece and abroad can apply to the IB Diploma Programme. Applications are accepted all year round if places are available; the application is submitted through OpenApply with a fee. Steps: introduction for the family, a meeting of the child with the head of the level and a school psychologist, then an age-appropriate assessment: school readiness for young children, from grade 2 written work in Greek and mathematics taking English and the second language into account, for Gymnasio and the first year of lyceum (MYP) a diagnostic exam in Greek, mathematics and English, for the upper lyceum and IB subject exams. If there are more applicants than places, admission is by score; priority goes to siblings of students and children of alumni and staff.
Stages and year groups Grades Pre-Nursery - grade 12 (Geniko Lykeio or IB DP). PYP: pre-school classes (ages three to six) and Dimotiko (Apolytirio Dimotikou); MYP: Gymnasio and the first year of lyceum (Apolytirio Gymnasiou and the IB MYP certificate); then a choice for the last two years: the Greek Geniko Lykeio (Apolytirio Genikou Lykeiou, Panhellenic exams) or the IB Diploma Programme in English. In the first year of lyceum students can also take the preparatory Pre-IB DP. IB DP intake: 65% from the school itself, 35% from other schools.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: PYP (ages 3-12), MYP (ages 11-16), DP (ages 16-19). PYP is the primary stage, ages 3 to 12. It is not a set of subjects but a frame for the whole school: learning is built around lines of inquiry, and there are no exams at the end. MYP is the middle stage, ages 11 to 16. There are no exams here either; at the end an optional electronic assessment of pupils' work is possible. DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.
What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.
Inspiredschool network
Inspired Education Group is a private school group founded in 2013. The group gives different figures on its own pages - 125 schools on some, "more than 100" on others - and we quote both: choosing for a group which of its own numbers is correct is not something we do. Its schools are in Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and some of them keep their own historic names, such as King's College in Madrid and Riga. The group's site is inspirededu.com.
What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
