Escola Voramar is a school in the Poblenou quarter of Barcelona, in the Sant Martí district, and it exists as a non-profit foundation created in 1966 by families of the quarter itself "with a vocation of public service"; the school calls itself Catalan and state-funded. The stages run right through: kindergarten, primary school, ESO and the International Baccalaureate - the Diploma is its leaving stage. The school names its size as what sets it apart: "we are a small centre where everyone knows everyone", and from that follow personal support both in academic guidance and in emotional care throughout the stage, as well as freedom to choose subjects and build one's own route within the Diploma. It takes its lessons outside: it has standing projects with Pompeu Fabra University, the European Youth Parliament, Erasmus+, the nautical faculty and the faculty of mathematics and statistics of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the Institute of Marine Sciences, the FabLab, the Barcelona sailing club and the ALBA synchrotron. Among its services are a midday space, sport, a reception group and library, summer activities and the Rosval project. The school does not name its language of instruction outright, but it calls itself a Catalan school, and the main version of its site, its pages for families and its section on the Diploma are written in Catalan; hence the language of instruction on this card is Catalan.

Admissions For the nursery, primary school and ESO the school admits through the general pre-registration of the Generalitat de Catalunya: on its admission page it publishes the initial offer of places, the lists of applications with scores, the lists after appeals, the tie-break draw number, the final allocation and the waiting list. Open days for these stages are booked through the school office, while for the International Baccalaureate they are booked separately, through the Diploma's own office with its own phone and email. The admission page names no criteria for entry to the Diploma, no documents and no conditions for foreign or newly arrived pupils.
Stages and year groups Grades kindergarten - International Baccalaureate. The school's menu divides its teaching into Educació infantil, Educació primària, Educació secundària ESO and Batxillerat internacional, that is the IB Diploma is its leaving stage. The site names no age limits for the stages.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: DP (ages 16-19). DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

Campus: The school keeps a library with a before-school reception group, a midday space and sports activities; it does have a separate "Espais i instal·lacions" page, but we did not read its contents.
Clubs and activities (4): AFA extracurricular activities · Sports activities · Summer activities · Rosval
Summer camp: the school runs its own camp; whether it takes children from outside is not stated on the website
Summer programme away from campus: The six-day Colònies stay, usually in the first week of July
In summer the school runs three programmes. Casal d'Estiu is a summer day camp built around a theme, through play, imagination and experiments. Casal Jove is a camp for teenagers with outdoor activities and sport. Colònies is a six-day stay in nature, usually in the first week of July, from Monday to Saturday. Registration is through forms on the school's site; the page names no ages, no prices and does not say whether children from other schools are taken.
Teaching staff
The school publishes neither the number of its teachers nor their qualifications.
Safety and wellbeing from the school's official website
The school says nothing on its website about security, medical care or pupil support.
Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
