Escuela Paritaria Castelfranco is an Italian-Argentine school in the Villa Belgrano district in the north of Córdoba. It was founded in 1988 by a young kindergarten teacher, Adriana Venturi, as a kindergarten; in 1989 the family built the primary school and named it after Castelfranco, the home town of the founder's father, and in 1990 a secondary school opened. In 2004 the school passed out of the founders' ownership and joined the bilingual bicultural schools project of the Italian Consulate General in Córdoba; the scuola media opened in 2008, and in 2023 the school gained Italian parity. Primary school and scuola secondaria di primo grado are now paritaria: pupils follow the Córdoba provincial and Italian curricula at the same time with Spanish and Italian teachers and sit the Italian esame di Stato at the end of the third year of media. Since 2024 the third year of Argentine secondary school has been combined with the first year of the liceo delle scienze umane opzione economico-sociale, for which parity has been requested. English is taught from age 4 with Cambridge exams in view; leavers travel to Italy and London.

Admissions For kindergarten: families fill in the website form, an information meeting in May or June presents the school and the cost of schooling; families then submit a pre-registration request and pay a place reservation, in the second half of the year the heads hold a personal interview and collect documents, and enrolment is completed on payment of the enrolment fee. Under provincial rules, siblings of current pupils have priority. For primary and secondary school, families write to the head of the level and book an interview. Kindergarten entry is from the 3-year group.
Stages and year groups Kindergarten (groups for ages 3, 4 and 5; Italian parity does not cover it), primary school (grades 1-6 in the Argentine scheme, grades 1-5 and the first year of media in the Italian one) and secondary school years 1-6. The scuola primaria and scuola secondaria di primo grado are paritaria: at the end of year 2 of Argentine secondary school (terza media) pupils sit the first-cycle esame di Stato and receive the Italian diploma with a competence certificate. Since the 2023-2024 austral year, years 3-6 have been combined with the liceo delle scienze umane opzione economico-sociale, for which a parity application was filed on 31 March 2024; the second-cycle esame di Stato and Italian liceo diploma are not yet issued. The Argentine qualification is a Bachiller with an Economics and Administration orientation (Communication for the 2024 and 2025 classes). Italian is certified through PLIDA at the end of primary and CILS in year 6, English through Cambridge YLE, PET, FCE or Linguaskill.

MAECIItaly's foreign ministry names the school on its list of paritarie Italian schools abroad: it teaches the Italian curriculum, and Italy recognises its exams and diploma on a par with state schools. Italy has recognised parity for the primary school and the scuola media; the liceo has run since 2024 under the Argentine plan, and parity for it has been requested but not yet granted.

An Italian school abroad: a state or paritaria school, the Italian curriculum, the esame di Stato exam and a diploma with the same legal value as in Italy.
What the badge means for this school. This is an Italian school abroad: it teaches the Italian curriculum, and Italy's foreign ministry names it on its list of state or paritarie schools - so Italy recognises its exams and diploma. The entry is not a quality inspection. Which stages are recognised and what the school charges are on this page and on the school's own website. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it.

The Italian school curriculum taught in Italian: scuola dell'infanzia, primaria, secondaria di primo grado (scuola media) and the liceo, ending with the state exam, the esame di Stato, and the Italian diploma.
What this means for this school. The curriculum is set by the Italian state: the school is an Italian state school abroad or a paritaria school, recognised by Italy. Exams follow Italian rules and the diploma has the same legal value as in Italy, giving access to Italian universities. The host country's curriculum usually runs alongside, and students receive two certificates.
National programme
The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.
What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

The school publishes nothing about where its leavers go: no share going on to university, no exam results, no list of universities.

Primary lessons are taught by Spanish and Italian teachers on a mixed timetable, and in kindergarten Italian and Spanish are taught jointly from the 3-year group. The school says a large share of its primary teachers hold university degrees and train continuously, and their work is reviewed through an internal evaluation system. All primary grades have tutoring hours.

There is an educational psychology office (one specialist for kindergarten and one for primary and secondary): support for pupils, early detection of learning difficulties, advice to teachers and work with families. Pupils use the labs only with a teacher; the school practises an evacuation plan. Each level has school coexistence agreements, and there is a school-family co-responsibility pact.
Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
