GEMS Westminster School - Ras Al Khaimah is the GEMS group's British school in Ras Al Khaimah, in the Seih Al Uraibi district. It teaches the National Curriculum for England from Pre-KG at three years old to Grade 12 and prepares pupils for IGCSE, AS and A Level examinations of the Cambridge and London boards. The school itself describes what it offers as "high quality, affordable education to students of all nationalities", and its fee is indeed lower than at the group's Dubai schools. The campus was purpose-built: an indoor multipurpose hall for badminton and volleyball, an outdoor football pitch, two basketball courts on the roof, two cricket pitches, separate science and ICT laboratories for primary and secondary, a media lab, two libraries, art and music rooms, an open green reading area and more than two thousand planted trees and shrubs. Safety is described in detail: separate medical rooms for boys and girls with a full-time woman doctor, two cardiac arrest machines, two evacuation chairs, 24/7 CCTV and constructed guardhouses. The Ministry of Education inspection of 2023-2024 gave an overall rating of "Good", and "Very Good" for health and safety and for partnership with parents.

About the fees The annual fee in UAE dirhams under the approved structure: 13,340 for Pre-KG, KG1 and KG2, 18,680 for Grades 1-6, 21,340 for Grades 7-9, 21,830 for Grades 10-11 and 24,250 for Grade 12. It is split over three terms and does not include books, stationery, uniforms or bus fees. The new admissions fee of 500 dirhams is non-refundable but is set against the first term. The sibling discount begins only with the fourth child - 15 per cent - rising to 25 per cent for the fifth and further children. Fees follow the framework set by the Ministry of Education and may be revised.
Admissions Admission goes in three steps: an online application, an enquiry number confirmed by email, then an age assessment and testing, after which the child is offered a place, put on the waiting list or refused. Up to the 2025-2026 academic year age was counted on 31 August; from 2026-2027 the threshold moves to 31 December: Pre-KG/FS1 from three years, KG1/FS2 from four, KG2/Year 1 from five, grade 1 from six to eight. The school calls itself inclusive in plain words: it takes pupils with special educational needs, gifted pupils and those learning English as an additional language, and teaches them in a common classroom with their peers. Documents from the previous school - reports and test results - are needed in English, and a transfer certificate from abroad must be attested by the ministries of education and of foreign affairs of the issuing country and by the UAE embassy.
Stages and year groups Grades Pre-KG to Grade 12. The stages run right through: Pre-KG/FS1 from the age of three, KG1 and KG2, primary school, then middle and senior school to Grade 12 (Year 13 in British numbering). The school gives both British and American grade numbering in the same fee table so that parents can match the stages. Extracurricular activities run after school for Grades 1-11, once a week for 45 minutes, with the offering refreshed each term.

CambridgeCambridge International Education
Part of the University of Cambridge. It allows a school to teach the Cambridge programmes and to enter pupils for the exams. There are four stages and they are authorised separately: primary, lower secondary, IGCSE and A Level. If the stages are known they are named in the line below; if that line is missing, the school does not publish them, and the Cambridge registry does not show stages either - it gives only the name of the centre, the country and whether private candidates are accepted. Cambridge calls what it does registration rather than accreditation, and the network holds about ten thousand schools.

The site dates its start to 1959 («Our story began in 1959«, «65+ Years of Legacy«), while another page on the same site says «over 60 Years of Legacy«. School counts on the site disagree: the homepage says both «52 schools across the UAE, Qatar and Egypt« and «Choose from our list of over 47 schools«, while the Our Company page says GEMS has schools «in the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, Europe and North America«. Students: «200,000 students from over 176 countries« (Our Company) and «over 200,000« (homepage). On ownership the site is explicit: «GEMS Education own, operate and manage schools globally« — it both owns and manages, but does not say which schools fall into which category.

There are separate well-equipped medical rooms for boys and girls, a full-time woman doctor, two machines for managing cardiac arrest and two evacuation chairs for injured or unwell pupils. Constructed guardhouses stand around the campus, with 24/7 CCTV. The Ministry of Education inspection of 2023-2024 rated health and safety "Very Good" and noted effective arrangements and detailed policies for safeguarding pupils; the school teaches healthy living, safe use of social media and screen time through assemblies and student-led wellbeing activities.
