International School Westpfalz (ISW) is a private international full-day school in Landstuhl (Rhineland-Palatinate) for children aged 4 to 18, serving families in Kaiserslautern, Ramstein Air Base and the surrounding area. The school opened in 2017 as a kindergarten and primary school in Ramstein-Miesenbach, opened its secondary school in Landstuhl in 2020, and since 2022 all grades from kindergarten to grade 12 have been housed in the restored convent in Landstuhl. The state of Rhineland-Palatinate has recognised it as an Ergänzungsschule. Teaching follows Cambridge International programmes: Cambridge Primary up to grade 6, Lower Secondary in grades 7-8, IGCSE in grades 9-10 and AS and A Level in grades 11-12; the first students sat IGCSE and A Level exams in 2023. Lessons are in English, all students learn German every day, and Spanish and French are also taught. More than 220 students from over 30 countries attend; classes are small. In secondary every student works with a personal coach, and Wednesday is devoted to the personal development programme with projects and the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.

About the fees Fees for the 2026-2027 school year in EUR per year: kindergarten and primary (from Early Years at age 4 to grade 5) 15990, grades 6-8 16700, grades 9-10 16990, grades 11-12 17990 (the German column of the fee list shows 17799 for grades 11-12). On top of this there is an annual resource fee: 350, 500, 600 and 700 EUR for the same stages. Fees are paid annually by 15 August with a 2% discount or quarterly; siblings get a 10% discount on tuition. An employer may pay the fees, but the contract is with the parents. The school year runs from 1 August to 31 July, and the minimum contract period is one year. For taxpayers in Germany the fees are partly deductible as Sonderausgaben.
Admissions Admission is year-round subject to places. Steps: first contact by e-mail or phone and receipt of the document pack, an introductory meeting in person or online with a school tour with the principal, then a compulsory free trial week in class and signing of the contract. For kindergarten and primary (ages 4-12) previous reports and a confidential report are required. Secondary (ages 12-18) can also be joined at any time, but entry into grades 10 and 12 only in exceptional cases because IGCSE and A Level are two-year programmes; after the trial week there is a final interview with the principal and the head of secondary. A copy of the passport or ID card, the vaccination record with measles vaccination, health insurance and a photo are required. English is not required: a support coordinator helps newcomers with limited English. The school states that it serves both expatriate and local families; the minimum contract period is one school year.

CambridgeCambridge International Education
Part of the University of Cambridge. It allows a school to teach the Cambridge programmes and to enter pupils for the exams. There are four stages and they are authorised separately: primary, lower secondary, IGCSE and A Level. If the stages are known they are named in the line below; if that line is missing, the school does not publish them, and the Cambridge registry does not show stages either - it gives only the name of the centre, the country and whether private candidates are accepted. Cambridge calls what it does registration rather than accreditation, and the network holds about ten thousand schools.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: Primary (ages 5-11), Lower Secondary (ages 11-14), IGCSE (ages 14-16), A-Level (ages 16-18). Primary is the primary stage, ages 5 to 11: English, mathematics and science to Cambridge syllabuses. At the end of the stage a school may run the optional Checkpoint test, which is marked in Cambridge. Lower Secondary is the middle stage, ages 11 to 14, with the same optional Checkpoint test at the end. IGCSE means exams at around Year 10 or 11, the British counterpart of a lower secondary leaving certificate. A-Level is the senior years, and their results are what British and many other universities admit on.

Dukes Education is a British private education group founded by Aatif Hassan in 2015. It describes itself as a family of nurseries, schools and colleges in the UK and Europe; besides schools, the group runs summer schools, day camps and university application consultancies. The group does not give a total number of schools on its pages; its Europe section lists schools in Croatia, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Switzerland, and its menu also has a North America section. In Spain the group lists 6 schools: Engage International School (Majadahonda, Madrid), International English School of Castellón, English School of Asturias, Colegio Inglés Zaragoza, Elian's British School of La Nucía and Colegio Internacional de Valladolid. The group's site is dukeseducation.com.
What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

There is a school nurse on staff, and certified first aiders provide first aid. The support team draws up individual support plans, and through the partner Therapeutic Learning Collective coaching groups, occupational therapy, behavioural support and mental health services are available. On enrolment families receive a pack of school policies (admissions, academic honesty, grievances, learning support) and sign an agreement on respectful behaviour.
Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.
Criteria breakdown criterion weight in brackets
Academics and programmes (16%)95 Community rating (16%)no dataparent reviews are needed: the criterion switches on at the fifth verified one Exams and destinations (12%) scored on disclosed data55 Safety and wellbeing (12%) scored on disclosed data70 Accreditation and verifiability (10%)85 Teaching staff (10%) scored on disclosed data55 Facilities (10%) scored on disclosed data75 Clubs and activities (8%) scored on disclosed data78 "Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
