International Trilingual School of Warsaw (ITSW) is a private nursery, kindergarten and eight-year primary school (szkoła podstawowa) in Warsaw, operating since 2001. Its defining feature is trilingual teaching on the One Person One Language principle: every child learns in English, in Polish and in a third language chosen by the family - Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, German or Portuguese. Mathematics and science are taught in two languages, language, literature and social studies in three, computing and STEAM in English, and art and PE in the third language. The school builds its curriculum from the American Common Core, the British National Curriculum, the French, Singaporean and Polish curricula and IB PYP and MYP standards. Students sit Cambridge Checkpoint in grade 7 and prepare in grades 7-8 for IGCSE and the egzamin ósmoklasisty, as well as for the DELF, DELE, HSK, JLPT, Goethe-Zertifikat and CAPLE language exams. The school sets no homework, scheduling study time instead. Teachers are native speakers from more than 20 countries.

About the fees Fees for 2026-2027: in grades 1-8 czesne is 4739 PLN per month, in kindergarten (ages 2.5-6) 3335 PLN per month, due by the 5th. The school runs 10 months a year, September to June; the fee table does not specify how many monthly payments are due. Discounts: 10% for the second and further children, 5% for paying the full year in advance. Czesne covers materials, Language Support, after-school workshops and trips around Warsaw. School lunch costs 20.60 PLN per day, kindergarten meals 26.60 PLN per day; in kindergarten, declared holiday months are charged at 181 PLN per day.
Admissions Admission runs all year while places are available. Steps: an online questionnaire, a call from the school, a meeting at the campus with the child, then an application, a photo of the child, a scan of the passport or birth certificate of the student and parents and a signed contract. Grades 1-6 require conversational command of one of the languages of instruction (English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, German, Portuguese or Polish); the other languages are acquired through immersion and Language Support. Grades 7-8 accept only students fluent in at least one language of instruction at an academic level: starting a language from zero at this stage is not offered. If a child speaks none of the school's languages, grades 4-6 build an individual plan focused on English. The school states that many students arrive without Polish and teaches them from scratch; its guide for families moving to Warsaw addresses expats and international families.
Stages and year groups Nursery from 1 to 2.5 years, kindergarten from 2.5 to 6 years (Reggio Emilia approach), szkoła podstawowa: grades 1-3 (Lower Primary), grades 4-6 (Upper Primary), grades 7-8 (Middle School). Teaching at every stage in English, Polish and a third language of choice.

What stands behind each entry

CambridgeCambridge International Education

Part of the University of Cambridge. It allows a school to teach the Cambridge programmes and to enter pupils for the exams. There are four stages and they are authorised separately: primary, lower secondary, IGCSE and A Level. If the stages are known they are named in the line below; if that line is missing, the school does not publish them, and the Cambridge registry does not show stages either - it gives only the name of the centre, the country and whether private candidates are accepted. Cambridge calls what it does registration rather than accreditation, and the network holds about ten thousand schools.

What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: Lower Secondary (ages 11-14). Lower Secondary is the middle stage, ages 11 to 14, with the same optional Checkpoint test at the end.

CISCouncil of International Schools

It accredits international schools and is a paying association at the same time. It examines governance and ownership, the curriculum, teaching, student wellbeing, staff and premises; a team of volunteers from other CIS accredited schools visits the school. Membership and accreditation are different things here, and schools confuse them more often than anything else.

What the badge means for this school. The school belongs to this organisation but has not been through its accreditation. The difference matters: membership is usually paid for and has no external inspection behind it. The entry is confirmed in the organisation's open directory.

National programme

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.

What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

The school publishes nothing about where its leavers go: no share going on to university, no exam results, no list of universities.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
