La Casa Verde is a bilingual international Montessori school in Coín, in the heart of the Guadalhorce valley outside Málaga; the school treats its setting of trees, mountains and fresh air as part of daily life rather than a backdrop. It was born in 2006 as the initiative of a group of families looking for a different way to accompany childhood - more respectful, closer, and more attentive to what each child needs. There are three stages, each a prepared environment for its own period of development: Casa de Niños from two and a half to six, Taller 1 from six to nine and Taller 2 from nine to twelve. The school names its purpose plainly - an education for peace: peace within, peace with others and peace with the world we inhabit; it accompanies through observation, listening and care, growing independence, curiosity, empathy, collaboration and a love of learning.

Admissions The school handles registration through its "Matriculaciones" page: the family leaves a request there for information on the enrolment procedure or for a visit, and the school contacts it. It takes children from two and a half, into the Children's House, and keeps them until twelve. The school publishes no deadlines, entrance meetings, observation of the child or list of documents. The school accepts foreigners: it calls itself a diverse community in which families of different cultures and origins live together; it names no special conditions for children from abroad.
Stages and year groups Grades Children's House ages 2.5-6, Elementary 1 ages 6-9, Elementary 2 ages 9-12. Three prepared environments: the Children's House (Casa de Niños) from two and a half to six - for independence, concentration, movement, language, practical life and sensory discovery; Elementary 1 (Taller 1) from six to nine - imagination, research and collaborative work lead to abstract thinking; Elementary 2 (Taller 2) from nine to twelve - children go deeper into areas of knowledge and take on more responsibility. The school publishes neither a daily timetable nor group sizes.

NEASCNew England Association of Schools and Colleges
An American accreditation working since 1885. For international schools it uses an approach where the visitors look first at live lessons rather than at folders of paperwork: the team works in the school for about a week. It is the only one here whose public directory honestly separates accredited schools from candidates.
What the badge means for this school. The school has been through this organisation's accreditation. It was judged as a whole: governance, safeguarding, staff, premises, teaching. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it.

The pedagogy of Maria Montessori: a child chooses the activity, works at their own pace with special materials, and mixed-age groups are arranged so that older children teach the younger ones. It is used most often in the nursery and primary stages.
What this means for this school. The name Montessori belongs to nobody: any school may call itself a Montessori school, and there is no single body that checks this. There are associations that train teachers and recognise schools, but membership of them is voluntary, and our entry means exactly that the school describes itself this way. This pedagogy has no leaving certificate, so what to look at is what the school finishes with.
Exams and destinations from the school's official website
The school publishes nothing about where its leavers go: no share going on to university, no exam results, no list of universities.

Campus: Three classroom environments fully equipped with Montessori materials; the school treats beauty, space, light and order as the condition for a room to become a second home. Inside the building there is a meeting hall, an open light-filled space for free movement used for music, dance, yoga and drama, a library, and a room for experiment and cooking workshops. Outside there is the shade of the trees, balance equipment and a wooden play area for the youngest children.
Summer camp: the school runs its own camp; whether it takes children from outside is not stated on the website
The summer camp "Life and the Four Elements" is bilingual, in Spanish and English, Montessori-based, and takes place at the school itself in Coín from 29 June to 31 July 2026, from 9:00 to 14:00, for children aged three to eight: nature, art and science, free play and workshops, music, cooking, water games, small groups. Prices: five weeks 600 euros, one week 150 euros, one day 35 euros, a 15 percent sibling discount; materials included, breakfast not.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
