Military High School - Al Dhafra

A military high school in Madinat Zayed, in the Al Dhafra region in the west of the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The school is state-owned and run under a public-private partnership contract by the SABIS network: in its catalogue the school stands in the Managed Public/Private Partnership Schools section beside two more military schools just like it, in Al Ain and Al Dhaid, and it is the only one of the network's Emirati records to carry no link to a site. A site of its own the school does not have and will not have: state schools in the UAE do not have them. Almost everything known about it therefore comes from outside. The accreditation is recorded in the MSA directory under the name "Military High School-Al Dhafra" with the status Active. The stage is the senior one only: the school prepares its pupils for leaving and sends them straight into higher education, and the Emirati press, reporting on 28 June 2019 on the graduations of the military high schools of Al Ain and Al Dhafra, calls the Al Dhafra graduation the third in its count - that is, the first was in 2017, and the school is young. The same report says the leavers passed their examinations with high marks that opened the way both to civilian universities and to military colleges inside the country and beyond it, and that the school, besides the general curriculum, runs external summer programmes, physical fitness and health classes and leadership training. Neither a founding year, nor a number of pupils, nor classes, nor an age of entry, nor admission terms, nor teaching staff, nor the facilities of the campus does the school declare anywhere. For a family reading this entry the main thing to understand is this: it is a school of the armed forces, admission to it is handled neither by the school nor by the department of education, and the admission rules are not in open access in any source.
