St PETER'S SCHOOL is a private international school in Barcelona's Sarrià district, on Carrer Eduard Toldrà, and it is an old one: in 1964 it became the first international school in Barcelona to use English as a first language. Today it is the only school in Catalonia to run all the IB stages in English in sequence - Nursery, the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma - so a child need not move to another school either in the middle or the senior years. The school stakes its identity on science and technology, claiming to be the first to put blockchain, nanoscience, neuroscience and artificial intelligence on its curriculum, and its science laboratory for children from birth to six is, it says, the only one in Catalonia. The Class of 2026 averaged 35.3 points out of 45 against a global average of 30.88; the top individual score was 43, 98 per cent passed the Diploma, 45 students completed it and 20 per cent earned the Bilingual Diploma, while on the Spanish route the average Bachillerato grade was 8.9 out of 10 and the average PAU university entrance score 12.7 out of 14. The Wellbeing Department provides psycho-pedagogical support and draws up individual plans, the school has its own nurse with a medical protocol, there is zero tolerance of bullying with an anonymous reporting form, and there is separate language support for those without Spanish, Catalan or English: in their first year they work in small groups and then join the regular class. The school publishes its fees for the 2026-2027 academic year itself: from 11250 euros a year at the Foundation stage to 22250 euros at the Diploma stage.

About the fees The school publishes its fees for the 2026-2027 academic year on its admission page, in euros, and each annual sum is made up of the annual registration and the tuition fee: Foundation (F1-F2) - 1800 and 9450, 11250 euros in all; Foundation PYP (F3-F5) - 2320 and 12180, 14500 in all; Primary (Y1-Y5) - 3080 and 16170, 19250 in all; Middle Years (Y6-Y9) - 3400 and 17850, 21250 in all; Diploma (Y10-Y12) - 3560 and 18690, 22250 euros in all. In the first year 16% of the annual sum is paid together with the enrolment fee; in later years 6% is paid in February and 10% in May of the previous academic year, and the remainder is split into 8 monthly payments from September to April. The fee includes daily meals (lunch and snack), stationery and day trips from Foundation 5.
Admissions Admission runs all year round, and for September the school advises applying by February; open days, in person and online, take place in February and March. There are three steps. First the admissions office interviews the family and the child, online for families abroad. Then the candidate is assessed on the interview, the report from the previous school and references from it, and an entrance test is given when necessary; learning difficulties and special needs must be disclosed at the start of the application. Accepted pupils fill in the documents and make the payment. The school does take foreigners and says so plainly: children and staff of more than 50 nationalities study and work there, and it is ready to accept a pupil with weak Spanish or English and help them catch up, depending on the year of entry. Such pupils spend their first year studying the language in small groups, teachers assess their level on entry, and the enrolment fee for them is higher - 7500 euros instead of 4500.
Stages and year groups Grades Nursery - Diploma (Year 13). The stages run right through and all follow the IB: Nursery, Foundation Years, Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma. The school calls itself the only one in Barcelona to run the full IB Continuum in English at every stage. Uniform is worn from Nursery to Year 9; Year 10 and Diploma Programme students do not wear it. The school opens at 8:00 for parents who need to drop children early, and during that time there is a choir twice a week and a book club once a week, both free of charge.

What stands behind each entry

IBInternational Baccalaureate

A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.

What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: PYP (ages 3-12), MYP (ages 11-16), DP (ages 16-19). PYP is the primary stage, ages 3 to 12. It is not a set of subjects but a frame for the whole school: learning is built around lines of inquiry, and there are no exams at the end. MYP is the middle stage, ages 11 to 16. There are no exams here either; at the end an optional electronic assessment of pupils' work is possible. DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

Campus: The school occupies a building in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi on Carrer Eduard Toldrà. It has its own kitchen, whose menus are rigorously supervised by dieticians, and its own dining hall: special diets for illness, allergy or religion are arranged on request with a doctor's note, and the kitchen is run by the company Saned. There is a science laboratory for children from birth to six, which the school calls the only one of its kind in Catalonia. Uniforms are sold by Uniformes de Colegio S.L. on Carrer del Rosari 10, and a parents' initiative, Recicole, holds uniform exchange fairs throughout the year.

The school calls protecting pupils from any kind of abuse a priority, has zero tolerance of bullying, an anti-bullying policy and a Safe and Supportive Environment Policy with a detailed protocol, and cases can be reported through an anonymous form, with every report investigated confidentially.

Reviews

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
