Sunny View School is a British school just outside Torremolinos, family-owned, founded in 1971. It takes children from two to eighteen and teaches the National Curriculum for England, in English, with IGCSE exams at the end of Year 11 and International A Levels in Years 12-13. The school writes that it was the first on the Costa del Sol to receive unconditional approval from NABSS, the national association of British schools in Spain, that it is fully authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Education and is regularly inspected. Spanish follows two paths: the Spanish curriculum for those who speak the language, or Spanish as a foreign language; pupils on the Spanish curriculum take the subjects needed for the Spanish ESO certificate at the end of Year 11. Among foreign languages in secondary school Spanish, French and German are named. Each stage has its own building, and there is a swimming pool, two libraries and a gymnasium. The school publishes its fees itself, in tables for 2026-2027.

About the fees The school publishes its fees itself, in tables for the 2026-2027 school year, in euros per semester; payment is in two parts, before 1 September 2026 and before 25 January 2027. Per semester: Foundation (2-3 years) 3235 euros, Nursery (3-4 years) 3830, Reception (4-5 years) 3965; Years 7-9: 4910, Years 10-11: 5665, Years 12-13: 6170. Per year this comes to 6470 to 12340 euros. Discounts for families with three children: 10 per cent on the two eldest and 20 on the youngest; with four: 10 per cent on the three eldest and 30 on the youngest.
Admissions The school accepts pupils of all nationalities. Admission follows the British age system, from two years. New pupils may be asked to take a placement test, and the school asks for a copy of the latest school report. The head of admissions guides the family through the whole process, invites them to visit, explains the fees and answers questions; the application is made through the form on the site.
Stages and year groups Grades Foundation (2 years) - Year 13 (18 years). The early years department follows the EYFS in a separate building: Foundation for children of 2-3, Nursery for 3-4 and Reception for 4-5. Primary school: Key Stage 1 (Years 1-2, ages 5-7) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6, ages 7-11). Secondary school: Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9), Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11) with IGCSE exams in ten subjects at the end of Year 11, and Key Stage 5 (Years 12-13) with four International A Levels. In parallel, from Year 2 to Year 11, Spanish language and literature and a geography and history course of the Spanish curriculum are taught, needed for the Spanish ESO certificate.

What stands behind each entry

PearsonPearson Edexcel, a British exam board

It gives a school approved centre status: that means Pearson exams can be sat in the school itself. What is checked is the premises, the equipment, the secure storage of papers and the presence of trained invigilators.

What the badge means for this school. The school can run Pearson exams on its own premises. The status says nothing about teaching, about results or about the school itself: any school able to run an exam securely holds it. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. Which Pearson qualifications this school is approved for is not stated here.

NABSSschool network

NABSS (National Association of British Schools in Spain) is not an owner of schools but an association of British schools in Spain, founded in 1978 by a group of leading British schools in the country. According to the association, it has more than 80 member schools, which educate more than 49,000 children and employ more than 5,000 teachers. Only schools officially authorised by the Spanish authorities as foreign schools teaching the British education system and certified by the British Council after inspections can be members; new schools that are still developing are not admitted straight away. The association represents the schools' common interests, encourages collaboration between them and holds an annual conference; its school finder places member schools in Madrid, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Andalusia, the Balearic and Canary Islands, Murcia and other regions. The association's site is nabss.org.

What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
