The Vocational School of Computer Programming and Innovations (PGKPI) is a municipal vocational high school in Burgas for grades 8-12 with a technology focus. It was created in summer 2018 in partnership with the Municipality of Burgas and the two universities of Burgas; according to the school profile, enrolment grew from 100 in 2018 to about 500 in 2022, its maximum capacity. The course lasts five years with admission after grade 7; the profession is programmer, with specialities in software, applied programming, intelligent systems and robotics, intensive English and dual training with mentors from IT companies. Grades 8-10 cover general subjects and grades 11-12 vocational ones (programming, algorithms and data structures, databases, web development and others). From the 2026/2027 school year the school, by its own account the first municipal vocational school in Bulgaria to do so, runs the IB Diploma Programme in grades 11-12; the first cohort has 9 students. The IB Diploma Programme costs 3000 euro a year in two instalments (September and February); parents pay separately for textbooks, materials and final IB exams.
