Wendhill Academy (until 2025 Wendy School and Wendy College) is a private educational institution in Timișoara where children study from nursery at 18 months to the end of high school at 18. It began in February 2010 with the Wendy Kids kindergarten; a primary school opened in 2014, a lower secondary school in 2019, a high school with a Mathematics-Informatics profile in 2022, a Natural Sciences profile in 2024 and a Social Sciences profile in 2025; all high school profiles are bilingual with English. The school calls itself the first bicurricular Romanian-British institution in western Romania: the Romanian national curriculum is complemented by the international Pearson curriculum (iPrimary in primary, iLowerSecondary in lower secondary). The main language of lessons is Romanian; in primary some lessons are taught in English, and English takes 5-6 hours a week. Students sit the Evaluarea Națională in grade 8 and the bacalaureat, and optionally Pearson and Cambridge exams. The school reports 450 children and 80 teachers; classes have at most 18 students. Nursery, kindergartens, the primary school and grades 5-12 operate on four sites in Timișoara, and the extended day until 18:00 is included in the fee. The accreditation page lists 2024-2025 competition results: 134 students took part in the national Comper mathematics contest and 39 reached the national stage, and in Romanian 195 and 46.

About the fees The year of the price list is not stated. Primary, lower secondary and high school cost 5000 euro per school year; the British line Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7) costs 550 euro per month and Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11) 650 euro per month; nursery 350-400 euro per month, kindergarten 400-450 euro and Reception 500 euro per month, depending on the site. Discounts: 5% for paying the year in full and 5% (7% on one page) for a second child from the same family. Tuition can be paid annually or monthly; the extended day is included.
Admissions The school describes admission as matching rather than selection: the family contacts the school and comes to a meeting, the child takes part in age-appropriate observation and assessment (for high school, an educational assessment and a discussion with the family), the school communicates its decision depending on available places, and the family signs the contract. Enrolment requires the application, the child's form and medical record, copies of the birth certificate and parents' IDs, a family doctor's certificate, and the contract and internal regulations signed by both parents. Children without English learn it through games in the preparatory class so that from grade 1 they can follow Pearson subjects.
Stages and year groups Nursery (from 18 months) and kindergarten (from age 3) follow the Romanian curriculum, with elements of Pearson iPrimary from the preschool level. Primary school (preparatory class and grades 1-4): the national curriculum plus Pearson subjects from grade 1 - Mathematics, Science, Global Citizenship and English; an optional Pearson exam at the end of iPrimary. Lower secondary (grades 5-8): the national curriculum with Pearson iLowerSecondary and the optional iLowerSecondary Achievement Test, the Evaluarea Națională in grade 8. High school (grades 9-12): Mathematics-Informatics, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences profiles, all bilingual with English, ending with the bacalaureat. The primary and secondary pages also list a British line, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, with separate fees. Nursery, kindergarten and primary levels are accredited by the Ministry of Education, and the high school is authorised.

Accreditations and programmes verified against official registries

Pearson · authorised programme
The Pearson register names the school as its centre (listed under its former name, Wendy School): it teaches Pearson iPrimary and iLowerSecondary alongside the Romanian national programme.

What stands behind each entry

PearsonPearson Edexcel, a British exam board

It gives a school approved centre status: that means Pearson exams can be sat in the school itself. What is checked is the premises, the equipment, the secure storage of papers and the presence of trained invigilators.

What the badge means for this school. The school can run Pearson exams on its own premises. The status says nothing about teaching, about results or about the school itself: any school able to run an exam securely holds it. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. Which Pearson qualifications this school is approved for is not stated here.

National programme

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.

What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

The school publishes nothing about where its leavers go: no share going on to university, no exam results, no list of universities.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
