Colegio del Pilar has been running in Pilar since 1982 and calls itself the first private bilingual full-day school in the area: it is co-educational and non-denominational. From 1990 it was built up on a campus off camino Real a Luján, on a site of more than five hectares with mature parkland, and since 1992 it has run all three stages at once. The youngest are taken from the age of two, and after them come Junior and then Middle & Senior, where every year pupils write a monograph, a dissertation and a thesis. The campus has a sports pitch, a swimming pool, a science laboratory, a library, an art workshop, a computer room, music and multimedia studios, a multi-purpose hall and a dining room, to which the youngest are brought by their own teachers, who stay with them for lunch. Among extra-curricular activities the school names a drama club, music, robotics, drawing, community service and mathematics olympiads, and it divides sport into rugby, hockey, swimming, football and athletics with three houses; senior pupils travel to Oxford once a year in January.
