Unidad Académica Dante Alighieri is a private Italian-Argentine school in Campana whose history goes back to 1974: the kindergarten opened in 1984, the primary school in 1986 and the secondary school in 1993. Italian is taught here as the school's own language throughout the secondary stage and is examined internationally through PLIDA Juniors, while on the bilingual extended day senior pupils certify IGCSE subjects - English as a Second Language, mathematics, literature, global perspectives, environmental management, Italian and Spanish. The secondary stage offers two streams, natural sciences and social sciences, and the stream is chosen in the fourth year. The school guidance service works across every stage of an institution that has around a thousand pupils. Out of lessons there are tango and folklore, theatre, jazz, music and mathematics olympiads, and sport is played in volleyball, football, handball, athletics, hockey and aerobics; since 2014 the school has held its International Week of Sciences, Arts and Sport, which has drawn schools from Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico and Brazil. Stages and year groups Grades Nivel Inicial - 6º año de Secundaria. The kindergarten dates from 1984, the primary school from 1986 and the secondary school from 1993. The secondary stage offers two modalities: "Bachiller en Ciencias Naturales y Bachiller en Ciencias Sociales", and the choice "comienza en 4to año con la elección de la modalidad y finaliza en 6to año". Kindergarten hours are "Jornada completa: 8:00 a 16:30 hs" and "Jornada simple: 12:30 a 16:30 hs", primary school hours "Jornada simple: 13:10 a 18:00 hs" and "Jornada extendida: 9:10 a 18:00 hs". The same institution also runs the CIEDA higher stage with teacher-training profesorados; it is not a school stage.
