Since 1 January 2025 it belongs directly to the German Klett Gruppe, to its kindergartens and schools division. The site names 20 sites in Switzerland, Germany, Brazil and Italy, some 5,000 pupils and a start of operations in 1999. On the recognition of its schools the site says one thing: all SIS schools are approved or recognised by the local education authorities. Of the status of a recognised Swiss school abroad the site says nothing at all.

A German educational group from Stuttgart; the strategic holding company is called Ernst Klett Aktiengesellschaft, registered at the Amtsgericht Stuttgart under HRB 17521. The group counts its beginning from 1897 and remains in family ownership. The schools belong not to the holding company itself but to the Klett Kita & Schule division: under that roof there are some 240 educational institutions, and the individual schools are held by separate companies within the division, among them BEST-Sabel Bildungszentrum, Galileo Bildungshaus, FRÖBEL International and SIS Swiss International Schools Group.
