Instituto Pedro Poveda has been running in Vicente López since 1961 and belongs to the Institución Teresiana, an international association of Catholic lay people founded by the Spanish educator Pedro Poveda. There are three stages: a kindergarten with a walkers' group and a mixed-age group for two-year-olds, a primary school, and a secondary school up to the sixth year with two profiles, "Economics and Administration" and "Social Sciences". Core lessons run in the morning shift under the curriculum of the Province of Buenos Aires, while English is placed in a separate optional afternoon programme that prepares pupils for the Cambridge examinations and for IGCSE, and the school administers these examinations itself. Since 2004 the school has belonged to a network of Spanish colleges: a leaver who has studied there for the last four years of the secondary stage may request a Spanish bachillerato diploma on paying the fee charged by Spain's Ministry of Educati. Admission runs through interviews and sessions with the applicant; the school confirms a place separately and only when places are available. About the fees There are no tuition fees on the school's pages: it has no section on fees at all, and the only financial conditions named are the payment to reserve a place on entry to the secondary school and the fee for the Spanish diploma, neither of whose amounts the school gives.
Admissions Admission to each stage is arranged through a separate pre-registration form on the site, one per applicant, and the forms go to the secretariat of the relevant stage. In the kindergarten the process runs as follows: an individual interview with a visit to the rooms in June and July, sessions with the applicant for the 3, 4 and 5 year old groups in August and September with reports on previous schooling presented, then confirmation of a place by the school when places are available, submission of documents for the child and for the person responsible for payment, and enrolment. In the primary school there is a general presentation of the stage, open to all from May with no closing date, a meeting between the applicant and the school guidance service on language practice and mathematics with a review of learning materials, an individual reply to the family, documents and enrolment. In the secondary school there is an application for a place through a form and, when a place is available, an interview with the parents, an interview with the applicant, a reply, and payment to reserve the place.
Stages and year groups Grades Sala de deambuladores and sala multiedad de 2 años - 6º año del Nivel Secundario. Morning shift: kindergarten 7.45-11.45, primary school 7.35-12.20 in the first cycle and 7.35-12.40 in the second, secondary school from 7.35 until 14.20-15.20 from Monday to Thursday and until 11.50-12.50 on Friday. The afternoon shift carries the optional English programme: in the kindergarten for the 4 and 5 year old groups from 11.45 to 16.00, in the primary school from 13.20 to 16.30 depending on the cycle, and in the secondary school after the compulsory part of the day, from the first year to the sixth. The secondary school offers two profiles, "Bachiller con Orientación en Economía y Administración" and "Bachiller con Orientación en Ciencias Sociales", plus the Spanish bachillerato diploma under the agreement with Spa.
