The school has been running since 1984, founded by the teacher and writer Hüsamettin Aydın together with Nesibe Aydın, and the network that bears that name describes itself with the formula "7 cities, 11 campuses, one school". The Ankara campus in Gölbaşı is the flagship: it has all four stages, from the preparatory class at the age of four up to Grade 12, whereas the network's Çankaya and Ümitköy campuses in Ankara are primary schools only. Classes hold twenty to twenty-four children. English follows the international Cambridge programme and is taught by Turkish and foreign teachers; from Grade 5 a second foreign language is added - German, French or Spanish, two hours a week - and senior pupils sit the Cambridge B2 First language examinati. The school has an academic council of ten professors and associate professors, laboratories of physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, foreign languages, STEM and computing, and its strongest pupils are prepared for olympiads and TÜBİTAK project competitions. School buses carry the children with an attendant and with a tracking system that sends parents a call and a message. Admissions Into the preparatory classes the school takes all four- and five-year-olds after a preliminary interview; at five and six and into Grade 1 priority goes to the school's own leavers of the preparatory class, and the remaining places are given on the strength of a preliminary interview. Into Grades 2 and 3 children are taken within a quota, by interview and by a draw, and into Grade 4 by the result of an entrance examinati. Into Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the lycee the school admits those who pass the entry mark it has set in the entrance examinati. Before the school year begins everyone takes a placement test and a foreign language examinati, and their results decide the academic group a pupil joins. Classes hold twenty to twenty-four children.

There are four stages and they are authorised separately: primary, lower secondary, IGCSE and A Level. A private network begun in 1984 by two teachers, Nesibe and Hüsamettin Aydın, from an educational publishing house; in 1998 they added courses known as "Yıldızlar", and in 2015 the courses became the school Nesibe Aydın Yıldızlar Okulu. The site names no foundation and no holding above the schools: the network appears under its own name, and alongside it stand the publishing houses Aydın Yayınları and Miray Yayınları, the courses, the Hurra Lingo language centre, a sports club and the Journal of Education and Future. The "Okullarımız" list is grouped by city and gives nine: Ankara, Antalya, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya and Mersin, - and within Ankara there are several campuses, among them Çankaya, Gölbaşı and "Yıldızlar".

The school describes safety mainly on the buses: every bus has an attendant who watches over boarding, alighting and the journey, and the ServisCell tracking system is in use, through which the administration and the parents learn by a call and a message when the bus will reach the stop, whether the child boarded it, and when the bus arrived at the school and left it.
