Colegio San Andrés is a private bilingual school in the city of Mendoza itself, on Joaquín V. González in the fifth secti. It was started by two teachers, Corina Espínola and Oonah Murphy de García de Onrubia, "con el fin de aportarle a Mendoza un proyecto educativo pionero en formación integral bilingüe"; the school is now run by the founders' daughter and granddaughter, and the motto has stayed the same - "We will endeavour". There are three stages: Kinder from age three, the primary school from the first to the seventh grade, and the secundaria with the Bachillerato Bilingüe en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades. The primary school follows the Cambridge programme: "San Andrés fue el primer colegio del interior del país, y único de Mendoza, en implementar el Check Point Primary", and the senior years follow IGCSE. Besides English from the third year of the kindergarten, French is compulsory from the fifth grade, with DELF examinations, and the school is in association with the Alianza Francesa de Mendoza. The kindergarten works half days in the three-year-old group and in two shifts from age four; the primary school and the secundaria run two shifts from eight in the morning until a quarter past four. The school has a psycho-pedagogical service, an emergency medical service and permanent security. Sport is hockey, football and athletics, and the older pupils travel to their own Campo de Deportes; there are three houses - White, Blue and Gold - a Model United Nations, English theatre and a concert, and a classical literature project. The school publishes neither its number of pupils, nor its founding year, nor its fees, nor a list of the universities its leavers go to.

Admissions Admission runs through a request for an interview: the school keeps a "Solicitud de entrevista" form and explains why it is needed - "El compartir esta información con nosotros nos permite comprender mejor al alumno solicitante y responder adecuadamente a sus necesidades específicas. Toda la información contenida en este formulario es completamente confidencial y será utilizada solamente por el Comite de Admisiones del Colegio". The form requires a date of birth and asks about the previous kindergarten or school, the desired group or class and the languages the child already speaks. The decision is taken by the school's admissions committee.
Stages and year groups Grades Sala de 3 (Kinder) - 5° año de secundaria. The school runs through to the end of the secundaria. The lower boundary is "Salas de 3, 4 y 5 (Kinder)", the primary school runs "De 1º a 7º grado", and the upper boundary is visible from the sports programme: "De 1º a 5º año: Hockey, Fútbol y Atletismo en Campo de Deportes", that is, the secundaria lasts five years. Leavers receive the Bachillerato Bilingüe en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades.
