A state high school in the Fatih district of Istanbul and one of the city's old schools: its own historical essay traces the line from an idadi that moved into the Vefa quarter and took the name Vefa Idadi-i Mulki-i Sahanesi in 1900, through sultani status in the 1913-1914 school year, to the present high school. By its own count there are 711 students and 59 teachers. Three foreign languages are taught: English, French and German. On top of the national curriculum the school runs the IB Diploma Programme. It also belongs to the PASCH network as a FIT school, which is German language work and carries no accreditation weight. The school has a boarding house.
