What stands behind each entry

IBInternational Baccalaureate

A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.

What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: PYP (ages 3-12). PYP is the primary stage, ages 3 to 12. It is not a set of subjects but a frame for the whole school: learning is built around lines of inquiry, and there are no exams at the end.

Embassy Educationschool network

Embassy Education - a Vietnamese education group with its headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City, on Pasteur Street. Its own site describes it as an ecosystem of creative education and calls the organisations within it members, without explaining whether this is ownership, management or franchise and without giving either stakes or agreements. The founder Thanh Bui is named as chairman. The site gives neither a year of foundation nor a total number of members. The strands: preschool education (Little Em's, Em Maison, Wisdomland), K-12, sport and health (LaLiga Academy Vietnam, VITTA, Yoga Planet), special education (Special Em's, VICA), career paths (StudyHub, FutureSparq), music and the arts (Soul Music & Performing Arts Academy, Kindermusik, Unicorn Dance Academy, A.C.T Academy, Arts Nation, VCVAA) and the non-profit AMPA Education, VIRES and COLAB Vietnam. The composition of the school section disagrees between pages: in the menu of the home page there is one school there, Vietnam Tinh Hoa, while on the members page the K-12 section lists North London Collegiate School Ho Chi Minh City and Royal Embassy Academy.

What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

NLCS Internationalschool network

North London Collegiate School International, or NLCS International for short, is the management company of an international family of schools, set up in 2009 to run partnerships between NLCS in London and schools abroad. The model is named plainly on its own site: a managed franchise. The partner abroad builds the school, funds it and runs it, while NLCS International holds the exclusive right, granted to it by the London school, to license the North London Collegiate School name and the know-how to new schools abroad. The family has six schools: NLCS itself in Edgware (1850, girls only), NLCS Jeju in South Korea (2011), NLCS Dubai (September 2017), NLCS Singapore (2020), NLCS Kobe in Japan (August 2025) and NLCS Hong Kong, which is in preparation. The partners named are Jeju International Free City Development, Meraki Global, Hakko Group and HOEH Ltd. All the schools abroad are co-educational. The Vietnamese school is not on the family's own site at all, neither in the list of schools nor in the partnerships section.

What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
