The Bloomington Academy opened in 2014 and calls itself the first British curriculum institution in the Emirate of Ajman; it is easy to reach from Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain as well. The school counts more than seventy nationalities. The curriculum is Cambridge: the school is affiliated to CAIE and runs the Early Years Foundation Stage, the Cambridge International Primary Programme and Cambridge Lower Secondary to grade 8, while publishing fees up to grade 12. The school names its British Schools Overseas accreditation itself, along with its awards - the ESAFE Award, Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards and the Madam Sosamma Lazar 100% Scholarship Award; its tenth anniversary was attended by the British Ambassador to the UAE, Edward Hobart. The strength the school insists on is international standards at a very moderate fee. And moderate it is - from 17,000 dirhams in KG1 to 23,000 in the senior grades on the ministry-approved schedule, and from 13,700 with the discount. What a parent needs to know: places go on a first-come-first-served basis, and an assessment comes before the application. And one more thing: the school has a facilities page, but it speaks only in generalities - an airy, well-lit, spacious campus - without naming a single room, and the counters for students, pupil-teacher ratio and nationalities on the site all read zero.

About the fees Fees for 2026-2027 in two columns, ministry-approved and discounted (AED a year): KG1 and KG2 - 17,000 and 13,700; Grade 1 - 18,800 and 14,500; Grades 2 and 3 - 19,700 and 14,500; Grade 4 - 21,200 and 16,100; Grade 5 - 22,400 and 16,100; Grade 6 - 22,400 and 16,500; Grade 7 - 22,400 and 16,800; Grade 8 - 22,400 and 19,000; Grade 9 - 22,400 and 20,000; Grade 10 - 23,000 and 21,500; Grade 11 - 23,000 and 22,500; Grade 12 - 23,000 with no discount. Payment can be made at the school cashier's office, online through the portal, or by transfer to the school's account; a transfer must state the student's full name, GR number and year group, or the payment does not count as made.
Admissions Registration for 2026-2027 is open. Application forms are issued at the admissions office, but an assessment comes first: an appointment is made a day in advance, the documents are brought along, and registration begins only after the assessment. Places go on a first-come-first-served basis and depend on availability in the year group. The principal and the head of section reserve the right to refuse an application even when all documents are complete.
Stages and year groups Grades KG1 - Grade 12. The school names Cambridge stages up to grade 8: the Early Years Foundation Stage, the Cambridge International Primary Programme and the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme for Grades 6 to 8 (Key Stage 3). It publishes fees up to Grade 12, yet names no senior Cambridge stages - neither IGCSE nor A level - at all.
