The Canadian International School of Sevilla is a private international school in Montequinto, a district of Dos Hermanas outside Seville, opened in 2023 and the first school on the Canadian model in Andalusia. There is a family story behind it: the Mantecón López family emigrated to Canada in 1957, Victoria Mantecón returned to Andalusia and together with Pedro Díaz Pérez de Obanos founded the Canadian group in 1985, which in 2001 became the first private centre in Europe to work with the TPR and TPRS methodologies and in 2012 registered its own Natural Fluency teaching system. The family had meant to open the school for more than twenty years. It is built without being tied to a single method: the Canadian model as a reference point, and inside it Montessori, Reggio Emilia and project-based learning. The school's official language is English, Chinese runs from the age of six, and German is offered too. It takes children from the age of one and carries them to eighteen: Nest and three early childhood levels from one to six, primary Year 1-6 from six to twelve, secondary and baccalaureate Year 7-12 from twelve to eighteen. The groups are small - fourteen children, and up to the age of nine one teacher for every seven - the rooms are done in a Nordic style, the school sets no homework and talks a great deal about emotional intelligence and working together. The main thing a parent needs to know: the school is very young, and only two pages of its site open - no fees, no admission terms, no pupil numbers and no clubs are to be found there. And separately about the address: the school is building a second building at Av. 28 de Febrero 46 in Alcalá de Guadaíra and promises to open it in September 2027.

Canadian Group is a family-run education group from Seville; on its school's site it says it was founded in 1985, when Victoria Mantecón and her husband Pedro Díaz Pérez de Obanos opened the English academy Canadian Language Institute and the vocational training school Formación y Medios. We did not find a separate site for the group: it describes itself on the site of Canadian International School of Sevilla. Since 2018 the group has been led by Alain Díaz, of the third generation of the Mantecón López family. The group began work on the school in 2023 and calls it the first international school in Andalusia inspired by the Canadian educational model. The school takes children from 1 to 18 years old in Montequinto (Dos Hermanas, Seville), and the opening of a building in Alcalá de Guadaíra is announced for September 2027. The site is colegiocanadiansevilla.es.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
