Escuela Ideo is a private school on the northern edge of Madrid, on the road from Colmenar to Alcobendas, and it takes a child from the age of one: nursery, primary, secondary, the bachillerato and, above it, two vocational cycles - "Technician guide in the natural environment and leisure" (TEGU) and "Higher technician in teaching and socio-sporting activity" (TSEAS). The school describes itself through nine values - freedom, courage, collaboration, solidarity, equality, effort, humility, respect, honesty - and through the people it leans on: Giner de los Ríos, Paulo Freire, Maria Montessori, Célestin Freinet and Howard Gardner with his theory of multiple intelligences. The school calls itself inclusive, secular and pluralistic, works through projects and in cooperative groups, and keeps a guidance service and a system of tutors. English runs as daily sessions. The school has a vegetable garden of its own, green spaces and an ecological canteen, daily physical activity and an arts strand - music, drama and visual art. Its certifications are an unusual set: the "Balance del Bien Común", STARS gold level for sustainable mobility, the "Sello Vida Saludable" and recognition for promoting physical activity in school. The main thing a parent needs to know: the school speaks of a "national and international bachillerato", but the letters IB do not appear on its pages, and the programme level in this record rests on the structure of its own bachillerato rather than on any statement of its own.

About the fees The school publishes its fees in tariff sheets for the 2026-2027 academic year, in euros per month. The Ideo nursery (under three) - 495 euros for a full 8-hour day with two meals or 431 euros for a day from 9:00 to 13:00 with lunch, in eleven payments a year; grade 1 of primary - 631 euros; grades 2-6 - 763; ESO - 780; the national bachillerato - 853; the international bachillerato - 1114 euros a month; the school stages are paid in ten payments. The fee includes materials, the guidance and mediation service, a nurse, accident insurance, the digital platform, the school for parents and the sports, arts and science spaces; in the nursery also 2 English lessons a week with a native speaker. Large families get a discount on all items: 40% for the third child, 45% for the fourth, 50% from the fifth; the Escuela Ideo foundation gives grants to families in financial difficulty.
Admissions Admission runs in five steps: the family writes or calls to find out whether there are places; if there are, the school arranges an information meeting, in person or online; then comes a conversation with the future pupil; if there are places and the pupil is admitted, enrolment begins; and the last step is getting to know the community. Applications can be made for any year from nursery to the second year of the bachillerato, national or international, and for the two vocational courses. The school names no marks or language requirements and no admission deadlines; it writes nothing separately about children from other countries.
Stages and year groups Grades nursery from age 1 - 2º Bachillerato, plus the TEGU and TSEAS vocational cycles. The stages run right through without a break: a nursery school from the age of one, primary, secondary, a national and international bachillerato, and above them two vocational cycles, TEGU and TSEAS. From the bachillerato onwards the school moves pupils to their own devices: "A partir de bachillerato, se comienza a trabajar con el dispositivo propio del alumnado". On the pages that were read the school gives no grid of classes by age and no group sizes.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: DP (ages 16-19). DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.
What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.
Exams and destinations from the school's official website
The school publishes nothing about where its leavers go: no share going on to university, no exam results, no list of universities.

Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
