Everest School Monteclaro is a private Catholic bilingual school in Pozuelo de Alarcón outside Madrid, in the Monteclaro residential district; it was founded in 1982 by the Legionaries of Christ and belongs to their international network of schools. It began with 538 pupils in 1982/83 and now has more than 1550, making it one of the large schools of the Madrid area: El Mundo and Forbes place it among the hundred best schools in Spain. It takes children from 12 months to university: a nursery - the "Osos" group from one year and "Patos" from two - then kindergarten, primary school, ESO and the baccalaureate. The primary school is divided by sex: the school has separate coordinators for boys' and girls' primary. English is set out as a pillar of its own: half the kindergarten activities are in English, and by graduation the school promises C1-C2 in English and B1-B2 in French or German. The campus is more than 20000 square metres; there are ten bus routes across Madrid, each with an escort, and a coach park inside the school grounds so that a pupil never has to step outside them. There are many and varied clubs: from padel, swimming, ballet, judo and flamenco to a drama club, robotics, fun science, piano and guitar; the school runs its own inter-school Torneo de la Amistad, the Copa Faro and the Cross Everest for pupils and parents. The main thing a parent needs to know: the school does not publish its fees - you ask the admissions office.

Admissions Admission runs in three steps: an interview with the parents of about 45 minutes, at which the school's project and its premises are shown; an interview with the child, to which from the second year of primary school psycho-pedagogical tests of learning ability are added; and enrolment through the school's digital portal, where documents are uploaded and the contract is signed electronically. The school names its admissions staff - Casilda García-Germán and Andrea Barrilero - and gives a separate telephone number and email address. The school does not write about foreigners or citizenship on its admission page.
Stages and year groups Grades nursery from 12 months - year 2 of bachillerato. The stages run right through: a nursery from 12 months - the "Osos" group from one year and "Patos" from two - then kindergarten, primary school, ESO and the baccalaureate. Half the kindergarten activities are in English. The primary school is divided by sex: the leadership lists separate coordinators for boys' and girls' primary, and separate teachers of "human formation" for each. A careers guidance programme starts in 3º ESO, and the baccalaureate has an individual study plan and PAU preparation.

CambridgeCambridge International Education
Part of the University of Cambridge. It allows a school to teach the Cambridge programmes and to enter pupils for the exams. There are four stages and they are authorised separately: primary, lower secondary, IGCSE and A Level. If the stages are known they are named in the line below; if that line is missing, the school does not publish them, and the Cambridge registry does not show stages either - it gives only the name of the centre, the country and whether private candidates are accepted. Cambridge calls what it does registration rather than accreditation, and the network holds about ten thousand schools.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. Which stages - from the early years programme for three-year-olds up to A-Level - this school is approved for is not stated here.

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.
What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.
Colegios RCschool network
Colegios RC is the Regnum Christi network of private Catholic schools in Spain; the network's site is run by the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ. According to the network, it has 7 schools in Spain and more than 7,800 students: in the Community of Madrid (Boadilla del Monte, Pozuelo de Alarcón, La Moraleja), in Barcelona (Esplugues de Llobregat and Sarrià), in Valencia and in Seville. They are Highlands School El Encinar, Highlands School Los Fresnos, Highlands School Barcelona, Highlands School Sevilla, Everest School, Cumbres School and Col·legi Reial Monestir de Santa Isabel. The site gives different figures for the international Regnum Christi network - 139 schools in 18 countries on the home page and "more than 140 schools" on the international page - and we quote both. The network gives no founding year and speaks of "more than 70 years" of experience; its site is colegiosrc.es.
What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

Campus: The campus sits in the Monteclaro residential district and covers more than 20000 square metres, on which the school runs its lessons and clubs, including padel, swimming, football, basketball, athletics and volleyball. The canteen is the school's own, with its own kitchen: the menu is drawn up and checked by a team of nutritionists, the produce is fresh, and there are separate menus for allergies and doctor-certified conditions; the menu is also supervised by the health department of the Madrid Community, and the school holds an AENOR certificate for its quality management system. Transport is its own: ten routes across Madrid - Barrio Salamanca, Chamberí, Argüelles, the Bernabéu area, Somosaguas, Aravaca, Puerta de Hierro, Majadahonda, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Boadilla del Monte and Las Rozas - each with a qualified escort in permanent contact with parents and the routes coordinator, and the coach park is inside the school so that pupils never leave the grounds; infant and primary children are walked to their classrooms by the escorts and handed over to their teachers.

In the footer of its site the school keeps sections on "Ambientes seguros" (safe environments), "Prevención de riesgos penales" and a whistleblowing channel. The school names neither a medical room nor security staff.
Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
