I Społeczne Liceum Ogólnokształcące z Oddziałami Międzynarodowymi im. Maharadży Jam Saheba Digvijay Sinhji is a private (społeczne) secondary school in Warsaw, opened in 2005 by the school on ul. Bednarska, the city's first non-public school after 1989. Teaching is in English: seven teachers are native speakers and the rest speak fluent English and teach in it; nine teachers hold doctorates. In years 1 and 2 students follow the IB MYP (called MYP(ic) at the school, MYP 4 and MYP 5) in the Powiśle and Stary Mokotów buildings, and in years 3 and 4 the IB Diploma Programme in the ul. Raszyńska building. The school prides itself on one of the widest choices of IB subjects in Poland: business, economics, psychology, philosophy, computer science, Design Technology, theatre and visual arts, mathematics HL. School life is built on democracy: students, teachers and parents elect a School Council, a School Parliament and a School Court. The school runs its own Model United Nations, RaszMUN, every year, has a tutoring programme and a university counsellor, and students apply to UK universities through UCAS with the school's support.

About the fees The school does not state the tuition amount on its website. Tuition is paid 12 times a year, from July before the start of studies to June of the final year inclusive, by the fifth of each month; if siblings attend schools of the Bednarska group, each child may receive a discount of 100 PLN a month.
Admissions Year 1 (MYP4) admits students by the school's own entrance exams rather than national points: written exams in English, Polish and mathematics (in 2026 on 21 and 22 March), a diagnostic test in a third language (French, German or Spanish) that does not affect the decision, and an English interview for those who pass the written stage. Registration closes on 10 March 2026, with an 870 PLN exam fee and a certificate of completing grade 7 of a Polish school or the equivalent in another system. Laureates and finalists of Polish and mathematics olympiads are exempt from the respective exam. In summer there is supplementary admission to years 1 and 2 and to year 3 (DP1), with an interview and exams in the chosen subjects. Candidates whose native language is not Polish can apply without the Polish exam after a conversation with the principal, but must have near-native English; candidates living abroad can take the exams in a different mode. Two places in every class are reserved for students in difficult circumstances and refugees. Admitted students pay a non-refundable organisational fee equal to one month's tuition within two weeks.
Stages and year groups A four-year secondary school: years 1-2 are the IB MYP (MYP4 and MYP5, called MYP(ic) at the school), years 3-4 the IB Diploma Programme. DP subjects: group 1 - Polish or English A, group 2 - English B (HL only), French, Spanish, German B, group 3 - economics, philosophy, geography, history, psychology, business, group 4 - biology, chemistry, physics, Design Technology, computer science, group 5 - mathematics, group 6 - visual arts and theatre; plus TOK, CAS and the Extended Essay. In the MYP students take Polish language and literature, English (including English Writing), Spanish, business, geography, history, civics, philosophy, psychology, chemistry, life sciences, physics, mathematics, theatre, visual arts, PE and computer science.

What stands behind each entry

IBInternational Baccalaureate

A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.

What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: MYP (ages 11-16), DP (ages 16-19). MYP is the middle stage, ages 11 to 16. There are no exams here either; at the end an optional electronic assessment of pupils' work is possible. DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

National programme

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.

What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
