The school was founded in 1980 and stands on the Sintra road in Alcabideche, in the Cascais area. It is a Christian school with a comprehensive American-style curriculum from PreK to Grade 12, and the high school runs in partnership with University of Nebraska High School, accredited by Cognia and the NCAA, so a graduate earns a recognised American high school diploma. Lessons are in English: an American curriculum, English-language pages for parents and students, and documents at admission accepted in English or Portuguese with official translation required from other languages. The school offers administrative support in four languages - English, Portuguese, Chinese and Afrikaans - and the site has Portuguese and Chinese versions. Admissions The school says it warmly welcomes students of all cultures, ethnicities, religions, countries of origin and educational experience. There is no designated enrolment period: the school works with small groups and admits students continually, year-round, until a class is full, and it prioritises enrolment renewals for its current students over new ones. The process runs as a visit to see the classrooms, an application online or by email, and a general interview of parents and student with the school, to which it is best to bring all relevant documentation so the child is placed in the correct grade.
