The International School of Bergamo is a private international day school in the east of Bergamo for children aged 2 to 18. It was founded in 2011 by Chiara Traversi and Guia Ghidoli with the aim of becoming a full IB continuum school: it has offered the PYP since 2013, the MYP since 2019 and the Diploma Programme since 2020, with the first graduating class in 2023. All subjects at all levels are taught in English; Italian is taught from grade 1 for five hours a week following national guidelines, and from middle school as language and literature or as language acquisition, plus a compulsory third language (Spanish, French or German). In grade 9 students sit the Italian Terza Media state exam before an external commission from a state school; the school states that the IB Diploma is recognised in Italy as equivalent to the Italian diploma. Students of more than 50 nationalities attend. The average IB Diploma score in 2026 was 34.5.

The family submits an enquiry, then completes an online application: birth certificate or passport, school records for the last two years, a teacher referee, results of any special evaluations, and vaccination records. The school encourages a visit; if that is not possible, an online interview is held. Admission is based on academic records and English proficiency. Applicants above grade 7 take Maths and English assessments (native Italians also Italian) to determine placement and any support needed; from grade 3 applicants may be assessed depending on records. Diploma Programme entry involves subject-specific assessments. The school states it caters to both local and international students; students new to English take paid English Language Acquisition classes, and international students take Italian Language Acquisition.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: PYP (ages 3-12), MYP (ages 11-16), DP (ages 16-19). PYP is the primary stage, ages 3 to 12. It is not a set of subjects but a frame for the whole school: learning is built around lines of inquiry, and there are no exams at the end. MYP is the middle stage, ages 11 to 16. There are no exams here either; at the end an optional electronic assessment of pupils' work is possible. DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

Inspired Education Group is a private school group founded in 2013. The group gives different figures on its own pages - 125 schools on some, "more than 100" on others - and we quote both: choosing for a group which of its own numbers is correct is not something we do. Its schools are in Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and some of them keep their own historic names, such as King's College in Madrid and Riga. The group's site is inspirededu.com.
What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
