Liceum Ogólnokształcące z Oddziałami Dwujęzycznymi w Boguchwale (LOB) is a public general secondary school founded by the Boguchwała town council in 2010; it is the first secondary school in the town's history. The liceum is housed in the former palace of the Lubomirski princes. It has three tracks: a traditional track in Polish, a bilingual track in Polish and English (since the 2013-2014 school year) and an international track with the IB Diploma Programme. The school says students in bilingual classes make up about 60% of all students and that no other secondary school in Podkarpackie offers the IB. The IB track has run for five years, and the first class with the international matura graduated in 2024. In grades 1-2 of the international track some subjects are taught in English using CLIL, and from grade 3 the IB DP is taught in English, except Polish, Polish history and geography and the second foreign language. Bilingual students prepare for the bilingual-level English matura and for additional exam papers in English in mathematics, biology, geography, physics, chemistry and history. The liceum supports home education and in 2026 placed 4th in the national ranking of LGBTQ+ friendly schools.

Admissions Admission to grade 1 is through the electronic admission system (nabór elektroniczny) under general Polish rules: grades and the egzamin ósmoklasisty. The bilingual and international classes require a competence test in selected subjects and English. For the 2026-2027 school year admission is open to the traditional, bilingual and international classes, plus supplementary admission to the international track in grades 2 and 3 for current students of the liceum. Admission to the IB DP (grade 3): application, a language test at the school (at least 50% of 100 points, regardless of external certificates), a first-semester grade 2 average of at least 4,00, and a total of at least 120 points including grades in English (at least 5), Polish and mathematics (at least 4) and two higher level subjects; behaviour must be exemplary or very good. An IB class has at most 20 students. International students may also apply to the IB programme: they complete a form and have an interview with the head, an English teacher and the IB coordinator; the head decides. Students transferring from another school with the IB already started are admitted under separate criteria.
Stages and year groups A four-year liceum ogólnokształcące leading to the Polish matura. Three tracks: traditional (taught in Polish, with its own set of extended subjects), bilingual (oddział dwujęzyczny: in grade 1 biology, chemistry, world geography, world history, mathematics and safety education are taught in parallel in Polish and English) and international (oddział międzynarodowy: in grades 1-2 like the bilingual track, effectively Pre-DP, and from grade 3 the IB Diploma Programme in English, except Polish, Polish history and geography and the second foreign language). In the IB DP students take three higher level and three standard level subjects across the groups, plus the Extended Essay, TOK and CAS; subjects include biology, geography, physics, history, chemistry, Spanish, business management and Spanish ab initio. IB students also take the Polish matura. Second foreign language: Spanish or German as a continuation, French or Russian from scratch.

What stands behind each entry

IBInternational Baccalaureate

A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.

What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: DP (ages 16-19). DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

National programme

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.

What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
