Mammolina Montessori is a small private family Montessori school in La Cañada near Paterna, north of Valencia. It has been running since 2015, was formerly called International Montessori School of Valencia, holds an authorisation from the Conselleria de Educación of the Valencian Community and since 2025 full NEASC accreditation after a five-year cycle with an external review. There are two stages in mixed-age classes: Children's House for ages 3-6 and Primary for ages 6-12; there is no secondary school. The school is multilingual: in Children's House children hear mostly English and French from English-speaking and French-speaking guides, and Spanish in the garden and at Friday sport; in Primary there are an English-speaking and a French-speaking guide, and 20% of hours are given to the Spanish and Valencian curriculum. The Montessori programme, the school says, also covers EU and US standards. The morning is a three-hour uninterrupted Montessori work cycle, the afternoon brings sport, music and gardening, and at the end of the day extracurricular activities. The main thing about the place is a garden of more than 2600 m² with trees, a vegetable plot and a tennis court, where a good part of learning happens. No uniform is required, and the school has zero tolerance for bullying and a 'peace education' programme. The guides are native speakers of English and French, with MCI, AMI, International Montessori Academy and St. Mary's College of California qualifications.

About the fees Fees are monthly, ten months per school year, for a full day from 9:00 to 16:00: Children's House (ages 3-6) - 595 euros a month, 535 euros for siblings; Primary (ages 6-12) - 650 euros a month, 585 euros for siblings. On top of this there is a non-refundable admission and registration fee of 620 euros (400 euros for siblings and from the second year) and a refundable deposit equal to three monthly fees for new pupils. Meals from the Casa Intur caterer cost 129 euros a month.
Admissions The school takes children from 3 to 12 and accepts new families all year round. Admission has four steps: a visit with the head, Cristina Cort, an application with the latest school report if the child has been to school and a questionnaire about the child, a decision based on criteria - the child's readiness, ability to integrate positively into the class and the family's agreement with the programme - and enrolment with a contract, payment of the fee and the deposit. The school accepts international families directly: it writes that as a private school it does not need the bureaucratic procedures of local schools and that the child's passport and health insurance are enough to start. Spanish is not required: younger children are immersed in English and French, Spanish comes through everyday contact, and in Primary there are a few hours of Spanish a week.
Stages and year groups Grades Children's House (age 3) - Primary (age 12). Two stages in mixed-age classes: Children's House for ages 3-6 and Primary for ages 6-12; the school ends at twelve. Every morning there is a three-hour uninterrupted Montessori work cycle, and children eat when they choose to take a break; in the afternoon there is free choice and shared activities - sport, music, gardening; after 16:00 optional extracurricular activities. In Children's House the main areas are mathematics, sensorial work, language, culture and practical life; in Primary work is independent and interdisciplinary. The school does not state class sizes.

NEASCNew England Association of Schools and Colleges
An American accreditation working since 1885. For international schools it uses an approach where the visitors look first at live lessons rather than at folders of paperwork: the team works in the school for about a week. It is the only one here whose public directory honestly separates accredited schools from candidates.
What the badge means for this school. The school has been through this organisation's accreditation. It was judged as a whole: governance, safeguarding, staff, premises, teaching. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it.

The pedagogy of Maria Montessori: a child chooses the activity, works at their own pace with special materials, and mixed-age groups are arranged so that older children teach the younger ones. It is used most often in the nursery and primary stages.
What this means for this school. The name Montessori belongs to nobody: any school may call itself a Montessori school, and there is no single body that checks this. There are associations that train teachers and recognise schools, but membership of them is voluntary, and our entry means exactly that the school describes itself this way. This pedagogy has no leaving certificate, so what to look at is what the school finishes with.

The school publishes nothing about where its leavers go: no share going on to university, no exam results, no list of universities.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
