Nørre Gymnasium (Nørre G) is a state upper secondary school in Brønshøj in north-western Copenhagen; in September 2025 it had about 1230 students. Its main programme is the Danish STX (studentereksamen) in Danish, with 13 classes in each year. Since 1991 the school has also run an international line: the one-year pre-IB (classes 1i and 1j, the Danish 1.g programme taught in English) and the two-year IB Diploma Programme (classes 2i and 3i), taught in English. The school is an official IB World School and also a UNESCO school for the Sustainable Development Goals; IB students come from many countries, and an International Evening is held every two years. IB graduates are advised by two higher education advisers, one for universities abroad and one for Danish universities.

About the fees The school is public and states that STX, pre-IB and the IB Diploma are free of charge, with no tuition and no examination fees. The intro trip at the start, the study trip in the second year and some excursions are paid separately; amounts vary by study line and year. From age 18 students can receive the state SU grant.
Admissions The school states its admission criteria for pre-IB and the IB Diploma (in no priority order): students with a foreign background living in Denmark because of their parents' job or coming to Denmark to obtain an IB Diploma with residence status valid for the full programme; students with a mixed background; Danish students who studied abroad; students aiming to continue their education abroad. Required: a Danish CPR number or valid residence permit (or certified diplomatic status) for the full programme, very good academic English, above-average grades, motivation and self-discipline. Students aged 15-18 are admitted; students under 18 living without their parents and without family in Denmark are generally not admitted. Families arrange the residence permit themselves before applying; the school's programmes do not qualify for a study residence permit. Danish students after 9-10 years of school apply to pre-IB as to Danish 1g; the IB Diploma can be entered directly after 11 years of schooling or the first year of STX.
Stages and year groups Grades 1.g-3.g (STX); pre-IB (1i, 1j); IB Diploma (2i, 3i). Danish STX: three years, studentereksamen, 10 exams including the SRP project. International line: pre-IB is the Danish 1.g programme in English (English or Danish A, second and third languages, social science, history, physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, visual arts, a mini extended essay), and students can switch to STX after the autumn term or the year; the IB Diploma has six subject groups, three at Higher Level, the core EE, CAS and ToK, with May exams only. Of the IB programmes, the school offers only the Diploma Programme.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: DP (ages 16-19). DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.
What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
