RSG Enkhuizen (Regionale Scholengemeenschap Enkhuizen) is a public secondary school in Enkhuizen offering mavo (vmbo-tl), havo and atheneum on one site, with the national exams. Teaching is in Dutch; all three levels offer tweetalig onderwijs (TTO), the only one in the West-Friesland region: in the lower years half of lessons are in English, with extra English, trips to England and Erasmus+ exchanges. The school's international department is known for its English programmes: Anglia exams are open to all students, about 300 upper-year students follow the two-year Cambridge English programme (First, Advanced, Proficiency), TTO havo and vwo students take Cambridge Global Perspectives with IGCSE exams, and upper atheneum students at A-level. TTO mavo students earn British vocational BTEC certificates in travel and tourism and the AIM Award in Vocational Studies. In the first two years everyone chooses one of four streams: sport, science and ICT, art and culture, technology and design. In 2025 the school received the European Innovative Teaching Award.

About the fees Education is free; no tuition fee is charged. The school asks for a voluntary parental contribution for out-of-school activities for 2026-2027; non-payment does not affect admission or participation, but activities go ahead only if 80% of contributions are paid. The voluntary TTO contribution is 350 EUR in year 1, 250 EUR in years 2 and 3 and 30 EUR in mavo year 4; unused balances are refunded, instalments are possible and there is a TTO bursary for low-income families. Cambridge English and Anglia exams are paid separately.
Admissions Year 1 admits students with a primary school recommendation of vmbo-tl (mavo) or higher, including a mixed vmbo-kader/tl recommendation; students with a vmbo-bb or vmbo-kb recommendation cannot be placed. Admission is decided by a school committee taking into account the primary school recommendation, a psychological test and the parents' wishes; a refusal can be appealed in writing. TTO requires at least a vmbo-tl recommendation: the mavo/havo class for vmbo-tl and vmbo-tl/havo recommendations, the havo/vwo class for havo and above. Year 1 registration ran from 25 March to 1 April. Higher years admit only students with a promotion certificate to that year from their previous school. The upper-year Cambridge English programme requires an Anglia certificate, an English grade of 7.0 to 8.0 depending on the programme and a motivation letter in English. The school says nothing specific about international students; it only notes that TTO students with a non-European passport should contact the coordinator about travel to the UK.
Stages and year groups Grades 1-6 (mavo 1-4, havo 1-5, atheneum 1-6). Cambridge International courses: Cambridge Global Perspectives for TTO havo and vwo students with an IGCSE exam, and A-level Global Perspectives in upper atheneum, with research papers assessed by Cambridge. TTO mavo has Pearson BTEC Level 2 Travel and Tourism in year 3 and the AIM Award in Vocational Studies. Language exams: Anglia (ten levels, open to all) and Cambridge English First, Advanced, Proficiency and Business English in the upper years at all levels.

CambridgeCambridge International Education
Part of the University of Cambridge. It allows a school to teach the Cambridge programmes and to enter pupils for the exams. There are four stages and they are authorised separately: primary, lower secondary, IGCSE and A Level. If the stages are known they are named in the line below; if that line is missing, the school does not publish them, and the Cambridge registry does not show stages either - it gives only the name of the centre, the country and whether private candidates are accepted. Cambridge calls what it does registration rather than accreditation, and the network holds about ten thousand schools.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: IGCSE (ages 14-16), A-Level (ages 16-18). IGCSE means exams at around Year 10 or 11, the British counterpart of a lower secondary leaving certificate. A-Level is the senior years, and their results are what British and many other universities admit on.

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.
What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
