Skrødstrup Efterskole is a small Christian efterskole, a boarding school, in the village of Skrødstrup near Mariager in Himmerland, for grades 9 and 10. It was started by local people together with Indre Mission: the school association was formed in 1971, and the first students arrived after the summer of 1973 in the former central school building. The school calls itself a different kind of Christian efterskole, open to all regardless of faith; every day there is a midday assembly with a short devotion and a song. Tracks: 9. Choice (grade 9 with FP9 exams), 10. Choice (grade 10 with FP10 exams and a choice of Science or social studies) and 10. All In - an exam-free grade 10 focused on entrepreneurship and social innovation with a trip to California. Grade 10 students can opt to study English on the Cambridge IGCSE programme (English as a second language) and take the exam; the school pays for the course and the exam. Besides lessons students choose fokusfag, i-fag, electives and riding, as well as a study trip to Japan, Africa, Costa Rica or Italy by Interrail; the ski trip, the intro trip, the Rønbjerg trip and the trip to Berlin or Amsterdam are included in the fee.

About the fees An efterskole charges one combined fee. For 2026-2027 the weekly price is 2995 DKK before the state subsidy; the school does not state the number of weeks or the annual total. The subsidy depends on parents' income, and the school refers to a calculator. The fee includes a school pack (Office 365, a hoodie, a tote bag, a neck warmer, a bottle), the ski trip, the Interrail study trip to Italy and three autumn trips (intro trip, Rønbjerg and Berlin or Amsterdam). Extra: study trips to Japan 9500 DKK, Africa 8500 DKK and Costa Rica 9500 DKK (the trips page gives 8500, 6500 and 8500 DKK), the 10. All In trip to California 9500 DKK, a stable place for one's own horse 18200 DKK a year, and a half share in a school horse 1200 DKK a month for 10 months. When two siblings attend at the same time, one gets a 15000 DKK discount; local efterskole support is granted in portions of 10000 and 15000 DKK.
Admissions The school first invites families to an individual tour, after which they fill in the registration form; a registration fee of 1500 DKK is then charged and counts towards the fee. A deposit of 1500 DKK is paid in August the year before the start, in February the school sends the state subsidy application form, the first instalment of 4500 DKK is due on 1 April, and in May there is an evening for new students. 10. All In requires grades of at least 4-7 in Danish, mathematics and English from grade 9, motivation and maturity; suitability is assessed at the start of the year. The school admits students who need inclusion support, including those needing 9 or more support hours a week, after getting to know the family thoroughly; the student must want to take part in the shared life of the school. Students do not have to be believers.
Stages and year groups Grades 9-10. 9. Choice: the regular grade 9 folkeskole curriculum with teaching by level (X - upper secondary preparatory, Y - more time for explanations) set separately in each subject, small groups and FP9 exams. 10. Choice: Danish, English and mathematics taught by level, a choice of Science or social studies, the compulsory self-chosen assignment (OSO) and FP10 exams; by arrangement it can also be taken without exams. 10. All In: an exam-free grade 10 - social innovation, project management (Projektledelse), social media, everyday activism and a trip to California; admission requires grades of at least 4-7. Cambridge English is an elective for all grade 10 students (in both 10. Choice and 10. All In) on top of regular English; the school says it prepares for the Cambridge IGCSE English as a second language exam, students take both the FP10 exam and the Cambridge exam, and the school pays for the course and the exam. Danish as a second language is offered, 3 hours a week. Fokusfag, i-fag and electives are not graded.

What stands behind each entry

CambridgeCambridge International Education

Part of the University of Cambridge. It allows a school to teach the Cambridge programmes and to enter pupils for the exams. There are four stages and they are authorised separately: primary, lower secondary, IGCSE and A Level. If the stages are known they are named in the line below; if that line is missing, the school does not publish them, and the Cambridge registry does not show stages either - it gives only the name of the centre, the country and whether private candidates are accepted. Cambridge calls what it does registration rather than accreditation, and the network holds about ten thousand schools.

What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: IGCSE (ages 14-16). IGCSE means exams at around Year 10 or 11, the British counterpart of a lower secondary leaving certificate.

National programme

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.

What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

Students are divided into family groups of 6-9 from both grades with a family teacher who is responsible for contact with parents. Teaching is in small groups, sometimes with two teachers in the class; students with special needs have mentoring.

Reviews

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
