St. Louis School is a private British international school in Milan founded in 1996; it now has about 1800 students aged 2 to 18 on three campuses. Early years, primary and middle school (up to Year 9) run in parallel on two campuses, Caviglia in the south and Colonna in the north-east of the city, while since 2019 the High School has occupied the 17th-century Palazzo Archinto in the centre near the Duomo. The basis is the English National Curriculum; from Year 1 to Year 9 families choose the British stream or the Italian-English bilingual stream, which combines the English and Italian curricula: the primary school holds scuola paritaria status, and after Year 9 students can sit the terza media exam. In Years 10-11 students take Cambridge IGCSE, usually nine subjects, and Years 12-13 follow the IB Diploma Programme; with the right IB subject choice graduates can have the diploma recognised as an Italian school leaving qualification. The 2026 average IB score was 37.5. Teaching is in English, and also in Italian in the Italian stream; children without Italian are supported by an Italian as an Additional Language programme.

Admissions Admission runs year-round through the admissions team: enquiry, campus tour, an online application via a personal link with the latest school report and documents. From Year 1 an assessment is required before enrolment, with a non-refundable fee of 100 EUR; results are given within 5 working days, places are then allocated and parents sign the enrolment and school regulation forms. The IB Diploma Programme requires good English. The school's own students have priority for Year 10 at Archinto. The school describes itself as an international community of almost 50 nationalities; children without Italian have an Italian as an Additional Language course, while the site describes no specific support for children without English.
Stages and year groups Grades Nursery, Kindergarten, Reception, 1-13. Early years on the British EYFS: Nursery (age 2), Kindergarten (age 3), Reception (age 4) on the Caviglia and Colonna campuses. Primary School (Years 1-6) and Middle School (Years 7-9, Key Stage 3) are on the same campuses; from Year 1 to Year 9 there is a choice of the British stream or the Italian-English bilingual stream; the primary school is a scuola paritaria, and after Year 9 students can sit the terza media exam. High School at Archinto: Cambridge IGCSE in Years 10-11 (usually nine subjects from languages, humanities, sciences, mathematics and creative subjects, exams at the end of the two-year course) and the IB Diploma Programme in Years 12-13 (six subjects at Higher and Standard Level plus TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS). From Year 10 both streams merge into the British stream. The school is a Cambridge exam centre and states that with a suitable IB subject choice graduates obtain the Italian equivalent of the esame di Stato.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: DP (ages 16-19). DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

Part of the University of Cambridge. It allows a school to teach the Cambridge programmes and to enter pupils for the exams. There are four stages and they are authorised separately: primary, lower secondary, IGCSE and A Level. If the stages are known they are named in the line below; if that line is missing, the school does not publish them, and the Cambridge registry does not show stages either - it gives only the name of the centre, the country and whether private candidates are accepted. Cambridge calls what it does registration rather than accreditation, and the network holds about ten thousand schools.

IGCSE means exams at around Year 10 or 11, the British counterpart of a lower secondary leaving certificate.

Inspired Education Group is a private school group founded in 2013. The group gives different figures on its own pages - 125 schools on some, "more than 100" on others - and we quote both: choosing for a group which of its own numbers is correct is not something we do. Its schools are in Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and some of them keep their own historic names, such as King's College in Madrid and Riga. The group's site is inspirededu.com.
What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
