Stella Maris College & Prep School is a private Catholic school for boys in Madrid's Valdemarín district, run by the Disciples of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The school is new: construction began in 2016 and finished in 2023, and it consists of two three-storey buildings on a garden site with a view of the Madrid sierra. The curriculum is Spanish with a serious bilingual layer: the school stakes itself on English culture and pedagogy, keeps native English speakers on the teaching staff and builds listening comprehension from the earliest years. The stages are primary school, ESO and the baccalaureate, both Spanish and international, and the school lists all of them for 2026/2027; pupils enter in the first year of primary school, while at present the oldest pupils are in the fourth year of ESO, which means the Diploma Programme is only now unfolding and the school has no IB leavers of its own yet. Priority in admission goes to children coming from the kindergarten of Colegio Mater Salvatoris - Stella Maris has an agreement with it covering large-family discounts and a shared school bus. The facilities are new and complete: classrooms for every stage, split-group rooms, a library, an assembly hall, laboratories, ICT and music rooms, a guidance room, dining halls for pupils and for staff, its own kitchen, a medical room and a chapel, and outside a covered sports hall, a football-7 and under-12 rugby pitch, athletics tracks, basketball and football courts, a botanical garden, an open-air amphitheatre and its own car park. A new church stands at the centre of the school.

Admissions Pupils join in the first year of primary school - the school says plainly that this is where admission happens, while the oldest pupils are currently in the fourth year of ESO. Priority goes to children arriving from the kindergarten of Colegio Mater Salvatoris: the two schools have a cooperation agreement, a shared school bus and shared large-family discounts. The school names no entrance test, no language requirement and no list of documents. About admission to the Diploma Programme it says only that a place is requested through the form on the international baccalaureate page.
Stages and year groups Grades Year 1 of primary school (age 6) - baccalaureate. The school runs the full Spanish route: primary school, ESO and the baccalaureate, the latter in two forms - Spanish and international (the IB Diploma Programme for ages 16-18). Pupils enter in the first year of primary school. The school lists the international baccalaureate in its 2026/2027 intake, but its senior stage is still unfolding: the school writes that its oldest pupils are in the fourth year of ESO.

What stands behind each entry

IBInternational Baccalaureate

A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.

What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: DP (ages 16-19). DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

Inside there are classrooms for primary school, ESO and the baccalaureate, split-group rooms, a library, an assembly hall, laboratories, an ICT room, a music room, a guidance room, a dining hall for pupils and a separate one for staff, its own kitchen, a medical room and a chapel. Outside there is a covered sports hall, a football-7 and under-12 rugby pitch, athletics tracks, basketball and football courts, extensive gardens with a botanical garden, an open-air amphitheatre and its own car park. A new, light-filled church stands at the heart of the school. The school also has a 120 kW self-consumption photovoltaic installation, funded through the recovery plan.

Reviews

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
