Trinity College Boadilla is a private school in Boadilla del Monte outside Madrid, and its roots run deep: the institution was founded in 1959 by the poet and philologist Dámaso Alonso, his wife Eulalia Galvarriato and her sister María Dolores Galvarriato, named Liceo Serrano after its address on Madrid's Calle Serrano, and imbued with the ideals of the Institución Libre de Enseñanza. In 1999 the lyceum was bought outright by Trinity College Group, which rebuilt its model, keeping the pedagogical line, adding technology and putting languages first; in 2009/2010 the group opened a second school, Trinity College San Sebastián de los Reyes. Boadilla now takes children from the age of one and sees them through to the baccalaureate. Of the IB programmes the school has one stage - the Primary Years Programme (PEP) for children aged 3 to 12, and it is authorised for precisely that; its baccalaureate is the Spanish one. Languages are the main commitment: English, French and Chinese, and the school promises that leavers finish with a Cambridge certificate at Advanced (C1) or Proficiency (C2) level. Of its own figures the school gives one: 90 per cent of second-year baccalaureate students finish with a final average of 'outstanding' or a high 'good'. A separate project is Cyberlab, a classroom of the future for STEAM competencies. There is an educational psychology service of its own, a sustainable dining room, an extended day, a school bus and a summer camp in Boadilla from 22 June to 17 July for children aged 2 to 12, with English, water games, themed weeks, Art Attack, Master Chef, excursions and films.

Admissions Enrolment, the school says, is open throughout the school year: the family fills in a form and arranges a visit to the school. A one-off charge for opening and managing the academic file is 200 euros. The school publishes no entrance test, no language requirements and no list of documents.
Stages and year groups Grades from age 1 - baccalaureate (age 18). The stages run right through: Kinder and Infants from the age of one, primary school on the IB Primary Years Programme (PEP, ages 3-12), ESO and the baccalaureate. Of the IB stages the school is authorised only for the PEP; its baccalaureate is Spanish and it does not run the IB Diploma. Inside the curriculum sit Cyberlab with STEAM, a parent-mentor programme and international trips and exchanges.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: PYP (ages 3-12). PYP is the primary stage, ages 3 to 12. It is not a set of subjects but a frame for the whole school: learning is built around lines of inquiry, and there are no exams at the end.

Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
