The school grew out of the private primary school Litorina, opened in Klaipeda in 1995; in 2002 it was reorganised into a basic school under the name Universa Via, and in 2012 it became an international school. Since 2017 it has run an accredited IB PYP programme for pre-primary and primary pupils (the only school with that status in Lithuania, by its own account), and since 2025 it lists itself as the first Cambridge-accredited school in the western region of Lithuania. A secondary-education programme was accredited in 2023, but the page about the gymnasium stage is still empty and marked "Information is being prepared". The school currently has 165 pupils aged 2.5 to 15, about 15 percent of them foreign nationals, for whom it runs an English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme. Teaching is in English and Lithuanian. The school takes part in Erasmus+ projects (KA121, 2024-2027) with student trips to Spain, Germany, Norway, Italy and France, has run student conferences since 2008, and offers STEAM classes.

About the fees Monthly fees run for 11 months a year: pre-primary and primary stage 500 euros, lower secondary (basic) stage 550 euros, gymnasium stage 580 euros a month (5500, 6050 and 6380 euros a year respectively). One-off payments: an entrance test at 30 euros and a non-refundable enrolment fee of 500 euros that reserves the place. The school charges no extra fee for the IB or Cambridge programmes beyond the exam fees themselves. A 10 percent discount applies to a second and further child from the same family. The fee excludes excursions, learning materials, PE kit, meals and competition entry fees.
Admissions Applications are taken on weekdays during office hours. Children aged 2.5-4 are registered for pre-primary groups in advance, and children aged 5-6 are admitted to pre-primary classes subject to places being available. The school states that about 15 percent of its pupils are foreign nationals and runs a separate English as an Additional Language programme for them; it does not state any citizenship requirement or language test for admission.
