A private full-day school in Istanbul running two sites under one name and one management. The main campus is the international school in Atakent, Küçükçekmece; the second site is called the Fatih Campus on the site and physically stands in Eyüpsultan, signed as Aljazari Elementary School of Science and Technology. The school names its founder and general manager, Ersin İşcioğlu. The stages are primary, middle and high school plus a kindergarten. Its own curriculum, the Aljazari Learning Program, is built from three parts: DAS for development, arts and sport, the applied J5 methodology with practical workshops, and PDP, a personality development programme. The school lists its own teaching units: academic development, science and technology, and languages and cultures. In the high school, boys and girls are taught in separate sections with their own vice principals. A career counselling centre prepares students for AP, SAT, TOEFL and IELTS and advises on university entry, including the Turkish YÖS exam for foreign students.

Admissions The school says it welcomes students from different ethnic groups, backgrounds and beliefs and enrolls those it has the means to support emotionally, socially, physically and cognitively. It does not print its admission criteria for the 2026-2027 year on the site: to learn them a family fills in an application form. Newly registered students who need a language level are given language exams and support lessons scheduled at the start of the semester.
Stages and year groups Kindergarten, primary, middle and high school. The school states no admission age limits and no class counts; the Atakent campus has separate principals for the kindergarten, the primary school and the high school, and the high school teaches boys and girls separately. The school calls English its academic language and Turkish its language of social integration: some social activities, visual arts and physical education are taught in Turkish.

The school describes itself differently, and the difference matters: it calls itself a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme and the Diploma Programme and says it is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. It names no centre numbers for other organizations, and no Cambridge, Pearson or College Board record stands behind it in the registries, although its own career counselling centre prepares students for AP, SAT, TOEFL and IELTS.

A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.

The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: PYP (ages 3-12), DP (ages 16-19). PYP is the primary stage, ages 3 to 12. It is not a set of subjects but a frame for the whole school: learning is built around lines of inquiry, and there are no exams at the end. DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.
What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate.
