A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The evangelical community of Porto Alegre, the legal founder of the Dohms schools. It traces its history to 1856 and a community of German settlers; the school was opened by it in 1931 as the Deutsche Evangelische Gemeindeschule. The community belongs to the Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession in Brazil and is part of its educational network Rede Sinodal de Educação, which brings together about fifty schools. The community's own site does not open at present, so this note has been put together from the historical page of the school itself and from the Rede Sinodal site; how many educational units the community holds today neither of them names.
