Colegio Carmen Arriola de Marín is a century-old Catholic school in Beccar, on Avenida del Libertador. It was founded in 1912 on a gift from Dr Plácido Marín and opened on 14 May of that year; today it belongs to the diocese of San Isidro and is part of the Grupo Educativo Marín. The school carries a child from the age of one to eighteen: nursery, kindergarten, primary and secondary stages, with a teacher training institute alongside it. In the senior years teaching is in Spanish and English, and in the third and fourth years of the secondary stage the pupils sit the Cambridge IGCSE examinations - seven subjects add up to the ICE diploma. On the grounds there is a chapel and a natural science museum built up from the school's very foundati: it holds more than six hundred mounted animals and thousands of insects. The school does not publish its tuition fees, its pupil numbers or the universities its leavers go to.

Stages and year groups Grades Jardín Maternal - Nivel Secundario. The school describes its own span like this: "Desde un año de edad y hasta los 18 años". The nivel inicial is divided into two cycles - "El nivel inicial se compone de dos ciclos: Jardín Maternal y Jardín de Infantes". The Cambridge examinations are sat in the third and fourth years of the secondary stage. Separately, an Instituto Superior de Formación Docente works alongside the school - this is no longer a school stage but a teacher training college.
