A private Russian school in Alanya, in the Oba neighbourhood, a branch of the Russian private school Klassika-M. Teaching is in Russian and follows the Russian programme: for the primary school the school names the School of the 21st Century programme and Peterson mathematics, while English and Turkish are both compulsory and taught to language-school depth. From grade three the school offers an American school programme as an addition: a student who completes it and passes the tests receives an American school diploma, though the school does not name who stands behind that programme. The school promises particular attention to mathematics, Russian and foreign languages. After grade nine a student sits the Russian state examinations and receives the Russian certificate of basic general education, and after grade eleven the school-leaving certificate. About the fees The school does not announce the cost of tuition: there is no fees page on the site. Only the prices of extra activities are named - 1,200 to 1,500 lira a month for a club or studio - while team games, basketball, chess and acrobatics are announced as free for the school's own students. Separately the school publishes the results of its grant competition with discounts of 10 to 25 per cent, without saying what sum those percentages are taken from.
Admissions Admission goes by documents, with no entrance examination: the school asks for the file from the previous school with all the stamps confirming the completed grade, the passports of parent and child and the birth certificate. There is no daily uniform: clothing is free but formal, beachwear and purely sports clothing are not allowed, and the tracksuit and shirts are bought at the school. Separately the school runs a grant competition whose results give discounts on tuition. The school has no boarding house; it says a child can live without parents in a flat with a teacher's family and decides such cases one by one.
Stages and year groups Grades 1-11. The school teaches from grade one to grade eleven, with each year split into an A and a B stream. Before school there is a kindergarten and a preparatory group: the kindergarten is open five days a week from 9:00 to 16:45, with transport, home cooking, a daytime nap, developmental activities and a separate programme of preparation for grade one. Lessons start at 8:30; breakfast follows the first lesson and lunch the fifth, breaks last ten minutes while breakfast and lunch take thirty and forty. In the middle school there are six to eight lessons a day: the sixth ends at 14:10, the eighth at 15:50. After lessons come homework supervision, teacher consultations and clubs.
