A private Russian school in Silifke, in the province of Mersin, opened on 1 October 2019. Its students are the children of staff working on the Akkuyu nuclear power plant under construction, a Russian project in Turkey; that is where the admission procedure comes from, in which the application is signed off by the personnel or social policy department of the parent's employer. Teaching is in Russian and follows Russian educational standards, English is studied intensively, German comes in as a second foreign language from grade five, and Turkish is a regional component and a club of its own. The school produced its first grade nine and grade eleven leavers in 2021. Beyond lessons the school keeps a busy programme outside class and its own summer camp, Barbarossa, with quest games, trips to the sea and excursions. Before school there is a children's education centre for ages two to six.

Admissions Admission has three steps and is tied to the parent's employer. First the application: a parent fills in the form, has it signed off with a stamp and signature by the personnel or social policy department of their organisation, and emails the school a scan of the application together with copies of both parents' and the child's passports. Then the documents, brought in person before the start of teaching or on the first day: the file from the previous school with a record of marks, a copy of the birth certificate, two 3 by 4 photographs, the first pages of the passports, copies of the residence permits of child and parents as they are issued, a medical record with a copy of the vaccination certificate, a copy of the Russian social insurance number for Russian citizens and, for entrants to grades ten and eleven, the original and a copy of the grade nine certificate. Textbooks are issued by the school, while the set of workbooks and the Turkish-language set for grades one to eight are bought separately by the family. Uniform comes in three kinds: formal, everyday and sports.
Stages and year groups Grades 1-11. The school teaches from grade one to grade eleven. The year is divided into four terms on a five-day week. There are three stages and each has its own mark: in the primary school, grades one to four, the School of Russia programme runs with Turkish as a regional component; in the basic school, grades five to nine, English is studied intensively, German is added as a second foreign language from grade five, Turkish stays at an introductory level, and towards the end of the stage the school prepares students for the state basic examinations; in the senior school, grades ten and eleven, the work goes into preparation for the state final examinations. Before school there is a children's education centre for ages two to six with a developmental programme, Turkish-language activities and school readiness work.
