Bell-lloc del Pla is a private school in Girona, and it has run the IB Diploma Programme since 1986, that is for a fortieth year. The school takes its name from the Bell-lloc tower, dated to around the sixteenth century and listed in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia; the junior building was put up in 1997 next to the Bell-lloc farmhouse, in natural surroundings. Its language provision is twofold: inside the IB Diploma Catalan is taken as language A1 and English as language B, and on top of that the school runs Cambridge exams - PET and First for Schools for everyone except the second year of the baccalaureate, where only the First is taken. Besides the IB Diploma the school offers a second international route, the Diploma Dual with an American high school diploma, which runs from year two of ESO to year one of the baccalaureate, that is alongside the Catalan baccalaureate. There is school transport with published routes and a school canteen with a published menu. The main thing a parent needs to know: the school publishes no fees, and on the pages read it does not name its street either. The school's language is Catalan: it is a state-funded private school, its site and pages for families are in Catalan, and in the IB Diploma Catalan is the A1 language. English is the first foreign language: it is taught intensively from the first year of primary to the end of the baccalaureate and used to teach part of other subjects; a second foreign language, French or German, starts in the first year of ESO. The nursery takes children from four months.

Admissions Admission goes through the official Catalan pre-registration, within the dates set by the education department; on the latest published calendar, for the 2025-2026 school year, registration for the nursery and primary ran from 12 to 26 March, for ESO from 14 to 26 March, and for the baccalaureate from 3 to 10 April. Applications are made online with a digital ID - IdCat Mòbil, Cl@ve, T-CAT or an electronic DNI; families without a digital ID can apply through the "support" route, and the school helps complete the application at its office from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00. Before applying a family can ask for an interview through the form on the contact page. The school says nothing about foreigners or citizenship on these pages.
Stages and year groups The IB Diploma Programme runs for two years and consists of six subject groups at standard and higher level: one subject from each group, three at standard and three at higher level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the extended essay and the extracurricular CAS activities. The school's group 1 is Catalan A1, group 2 English B, group 3 humanities subjects such as philosophy, business management and the history of Europe, group 4 physics, biology, chemistry or environmental systems, group 5 mathematics, and group 6 one further subject from group 3 or group 4 depending on the chosen route. The Diploma Dual with an American high school diploma runs as a separate route from year two of ESO to year one of the baccalaureate.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: DP (ages 16-19). DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
