Colegio Sierra Blanca is a private bilingual school of the Attendis group on Avenida de Plutarco in Málaga, one of a pair with the girls' school El Romeral: their pages, services and news are shared, their addresses are not. The group grew out of the initiative of parents' associations inspired by the teaching of St Josemaría and is run by Centros Familiares de Enseñanza, a company that does not distribute profits but reinvests them in the schools. The stages run from Attendis Preschool (from 0 to 2 years) through kindergarten, primary school and ESO to the baccalaureate, that is from 0 to 18. Teaching is bilingual, with language immersion and preparation for the Cambridge English examinations, and the school calls itself an "IB World School": its teachers are certified for International Baccalaureate programmes, and it builds its plan of human formation on the attributes of the IB learner profile, adding two of its own - "with a sense of the transcendent" and "oriented towards the good". The school's page does not say at which stage the IB programme is authorised.

About the fees The only fee named on the site is for the Attendis Preschool stage: 353 euros with lunch included for the 0-2 group from 9:00 to 17:00. That is a nursery price, not a school one; the site states no fee for kindergarten, primary school, ESO or the baccalaureate.
Admissions The group describes admission to its Malaga schools in the same way: the school office arranges a meeting for the parents with the governing committee, at which they learn about the school and its project, while the child sits a short placement test; the school reports back on progress within a week at most. Children are taken from 6 months - at Attendis Preschool Malaga - and onwards up to the baccalaureate. The school posts its admissions policy as a separate document, and applications are made with the "Solicitar plaza" form on the school page. There are no conditions for foreign families and no language requirements on the school's pages.
Stages and year groups Grades Attendis Preschool from 6 months - year 2 of the baccalaureate, that is up to age 18. The group's Málaga page says plainly "De 0 a 18 años": Attendis Preschool (0-2 years), Educación Infantil, Primaria, Secundaria and Bachillerato. The nursery runs from 9:00 to 17:00.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: PYP (ages 3-12), MYP (ages 11-16). PYP is the primary stage, ages 3 to 12. It is not a set of subjects but a frame for the whole school: learning is built around lines of inquiry, and there are no exams at the end. MYP is the middle stage, ages 11 to 16. There are no exams here either; at the end an optional electronic assessment of pupils' work is possible.

Attendis is a private school group in southern Spain founded in 1972. On its site the group lists 20 schools and 13 Attendis Preschool nurseries in Andalusia and Extremadura: two schools each in Algeciras, Almería, Badajoz, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga, Marbella, Seville and the El Puerto de Santa María and Jerez area. According to the group, all of its schools were started by parents inspired by the teachings of Saint Josemaría on education and the family. Since the early years the schools have been run by the public limited company Centros Familiares de Enseñanza, registered in the Seville Commercial Register. The group's site is attendis.com.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
