Deutsche Schule Valencia is a private German school abroad in Valencia's Benimaclet district, next to the university area and not far from the city centre. There are two languages of instruction, Spanish and German, and beyond them the school gives a high level of English, French and Valencian. The stages run from Kindergarten through primary to secondary school, and the path ends with the German school leaving examination, which opens both German and Spanish universities. The campus is about 14270 square metres and is divided by stage: since the start of 2026 the Kindergarten has occupied a new building designed specifically for the youngest, the primary school has a building of its own, and the secondary school a new building with subject rooms. The school states its ideal as "intercultural encounter": knowledge of two cultures and the practice of two languages, high teaching quality, social learning and diversity as an opportunity.

Per year: Kindergarten and grades 1 to 4 - 6103 euros, grades 5 to 8 - 5541, grades 9 and 10 - 6051, grade 11 - 6103, the final grade 12 - 6103 euros. Payment is usually monthly by SEPA direct debit, from September to June: 610.30 euros a month in Kindergarten, grades 1 to 4 and 11, 554.10 in grades 5 to 8, 605.10 in 9 and 10; in grade 12 there are nine payments of 678.11 euros from September to May. The year can also be paid in one sum. There is a sibling discount, except in Kindergarten: 10 per cent for the second child, 20 for the third, 30 for the fourth and further children. Beyond the fee the school names the Spanish as a foreign language programme (SpaF), from 805 to 1035 euros a year depending on the grade, and a digital devices charge in grades 5 to 8, 190 euros a year.
Admissions The school admits new pupils to the second and third years of Kindergarten (KG2 and KG3), to primary in grades 1 to 4 and to secondary in grades 5 to 11, usually at the start of the school year or of a semester. The procedure has five steps: an online application; documents - birth certificate, passport copies, vaccination certificate and school reports; review by the administration and teaching staff; an interview or a trial day, if places allow, by age and grade; a decision and a contract. An application fee of 150 euros is paid before submission. Applications for September are accepted until 1 February, with an answer in mid-May; for January until 15 October, with an answer in mid-November. The language of instruction is German, and the school states plainly that basic German is needed to learn successfully; it does not turn away a child without German in advance, but assesses at admission whether successful integration with intensive language support is possible. Spanish is introduced in primary from the first grade, with no prior knowledge required. The school does not write about foreigners or citizenship as such.
Stages and year groups Grades Kindergarten from age 3 - Secundaria II. The stages run right through: Kindergarten (KG1 and KG2 for children aged 3-5 and Preescolar KG3), primary school and secondary school with the German school leaving examination. The school office is open from 8:00 to 15:00 and is split into two services - secondary school with the administration, and primary school with the Kindergarten.

ZfACentral Agency for German Schools Abroad
A German federal agency. It recognises a school as a German school abroad, funds it and grants the right to award the German leaving certificate. Quality is examined by a state inspection about once every six years, and schools that pass receive the mark of an excellent German school abroad.
What the badge means for this school. The school has been through this organisation's accreditation. It was judged as a whole: governance, safeguarding, staff, premises, teaching. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it.

The German school programme. Recognised German schools abroad award the Deutsches Internationales Abitur, the German leaving certificate used for entry to universities in Germany. Behind the recognition stands the federal agency ZfA.
What this means for this school. ZfA recognition comes at levels: a school that takes pupils through to the German leaving certificate is one thing, a school with the DSD language diploma, where German is taught as a subject, is another. Which level this school holds is not stated here.
Exams and destinations from the school's official website
The school publishes nothing about where its leavers go: no share going on to university, no exam results, no list of universities.

Campus: A campus of about 14270 square metres in the Benimaclet district, next to the university area and not far from the centre of Valencia, well served by bus, metro and bicycle. Since the start of 2026 the Kindergarten has occupied a new building: six classrooms for children aged 3-5, four Preescolar classrooms, each classroom with its own bathroom and cloakroom, a psychomotor room, common rooms, breakout rooms and a staff room, direct access to a yard with a sand area, swings and climbing structures, an exchange library and a dining area for KG3 connected directly to the canteen. The primary school has a building of its own: ten modern classrooms, group work rooms, a dedicated natural and social sciences room, a school library, direct access to the yard and a connection to the dining hall. From year 5 the secondary school works in a new building: 40 classrooms and specialist rooms with digital equipment, laboratories for biology, chemistry and physics with preparation and materials rooms, and dedicated rooms for languages, social sciences, music, art, ethics and philosophy.
Summer camp: the school runs its own camp and takes children from outside as well
The Escuela de Verano summer school runs every July in Valencia for nursery and primary children. Activities are in German and Spanish, with immersion in both languages: art, music, theatre and crafts, water games, the pool and sport. It takes the school's own pupils and, if places allow, children from outside; registration is online through the school platform Phidias. The page gives no exact dates and no price.
Teaching staff
The school publishes neither the number of its teachers nor their qualifications.
Safety and wellbeing from the school's official website
The school says nothing on its website about security, medical care or pupil support.
Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
