The Greek state schools in München are their largest complex in Germany: two primary schools on the Greek ministry list (the 1st and 5th), the 4th primary school 'Aristotelis', two lower secondary schools (the 1st and 2nd Gymnasio) and the general lyceum 'Konstantinos Karatheodori'. The schools operate under the responsibility of the Greek Republic, are run by the Consulate General of Greece in München and are supervised by the state of Bavaria. The primary and lower secondary schools are organised as Bavarian Volksschulen with a bilingual programme: lessons are in Greek and German, and lower secondary students sit the Bavarian QUALI and MSA (Mittlerer Schulabschluss) exams and the DSD German exam. The lyceum follows the Greek curriculum in Greek and leads to the Greek lyceum leaving certificate (Apolytirio). Since January 2026 the 1st Gymnasio and the 'Aristotelis' school have been in a new building on Max-Diamand-Straße.

About the fees Tuition is free: these are state schools operating under the responsibility of the Greek Republic, run by the Consulate General of Greece in München. After-school care at the 'Aristotelis' primary school until 16:00 costs a family 30 EUR per year regardless of the number of children.
Admissions Enrolment for the first grade at the 4th primary school 'Aristotelis' takes place in spring under Bavarian law, and the school admits to the first grade only children from its school district (Schulsprengel); required are a birth certificate (Greek from the municipality or German Geburtsurkunde), the child's passport, the parents' documents, a residence registration (Meldebescheinigung), the vaccination record and the medical examination report. Transfers from German and Greek schools are possible at any time. For the Gymnasio, the application and data form are sent by e-mail and documents are brought by appointment; there are applications for transfer to the M-Zug class (MSA leaving class) or to a regular class. The first lyceum year admits students who have completed grade 9 or 10 (M10). A transfer to the lyceum requires an application by both parents, a birth certificate 'from the municipality in Greece or translated for those without Greek citizenship', a residence registration (Meldebestätigung), the parents' and student's documents and a medical certificate for PE.
Stages and year groups Grades 1-12. Greek curriculum on three levels. The primary schools (Dimotiko, grades 1-6; under Bavarian law Grundschule and Teilhauptschule I) and the lower secondary schools (Gymnasio, grades 7-9 and the M10 leaving class; under Bavarian law Teilhauptschule II) are bilingual: some lessons are in German, and students sit the Bavarian QUALI (qualifizierender Mittelschulabschluss) and MSA (Mittlerer Schulabschluss) exams, and at the 2nd Gymnasio also the DSD German language diploma. The general lyceum (Geniko Lykeio, grades 10-12) follows the Greek curriculum in Greek, leading to the Greek lyceum leaving certificate (Apolytirio). There are no international programmes.

YPAITHAGreece's Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports (YPAITHA)
A Greek school abroad: the Greek curriculum taught in Greek, and the school belongs to the formal Greek education system under the ministry's supervision. Every such school is named on the list of Greece's education ministry.
What the badge means for this school. This is a Greek school abroad, and that can be checked on the list of Greece's education ministry. The entry is not a quality inspection: a school is on the list as part of the Greek education system, not as the outcome of an assessment. The curriculum and the certificate are Greek. Whom the school admits and what it charges are on its own website. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it.

The Greek school curriculum taught in Greek, with Greek qualifications: the gymnasium certificate and the lyceum certificate.
What this means for this school. The curriculum is set by Greece's education ministry, which also names the school on its list of Greek-language schools abroad that belong to the formal Greek education system. A lyceum leaver receives the Greek school-leaving certificate used for entry to Greek universities; for children of Greeks living abroad Greece has a separate quota in the university entrance examinations.
Exams and destinations from the school's official website
The school publishes nothing about where its leavers go: no share going on to university, no exam results, no list of universities.

Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
