The school grew out of the "Pirmie Soļi" preschool, opened in 2019; in 2023 it was licensed by the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science, and in 2024 it opened its first primary stage for children aged 6-9 on a new campus near Viestura Park. IMSOL combines the Montessori method with International Baccalaureate programmes: the PYP (ages 2.5-12) is already authorised, and the MYP (ages 11-16) is applying for candidacy in the 2026-2027 school year. The school describes itself as the first institution in the world accredited by the Waterpark Montessori institute. Instruction is in English; Latvian is taught separately (3 hours a week, per Ministry requirement), with mother-tongue support in Ukrainian, Russian, and Latvian, plus French as an additional language. More than 17 teachers hold Montessori certification (AMI/MACTE) and IB PYP credentials and come from Latvia, Greece, Poland, India, Indonesia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Russia.

About the fees Annual tuition is stated as a single amount regardless of how it is split: EUR 9900 when paid in 1-6 instalments and EUR 10200 when split into 12 monthly payments of EUR 850 each - this is an instalment plan for the same annual sum, not a separate monthly price.
