A French lycée in Riga has been operating since 2007 on the initiative of the French embassy in Latvia and has belonged to the AEFE network (Agency for French Education Abroad) since 2011, which means it is inspected every year by French National Education inspectors. About the fees Tuition can be paid in three ways: monthly (ten payments from September to June), per trimester with a 2 percent discount off the annual sum, or twice a year with a 3 percent discount. For the first child in a family the monthly fee is EUR 675 in elementary school (CP-CM2), EUR 705 in collège (6ème-3ème), EUR 841 in lycée (2nde-Terminale); for pre-elementary (TPS-GS) the school's document gives rates for the second, third and fourth-and-further child - EUR 786, 493 and 460 a month respectively. A discount applies to a second child at every stage, and drops further for a third child and beyond. A one-time fee of EUR 1000 is charged at first registration; the annual re-enrolment fee is EUR 700 in the first year and EUR 600 in later years.
Admissions Admission runs at every stage, from pre-elementary to lycée, by decision of the admissions committee and subject to available places; entry into collège or lycée includes an entrance test in maths and reading, with a possible meeting with the head.
