Lisbon Montessori School is a private not-for-profit school near Lisbon, in Cascais, and it is not only a kindergarten: besides Casa dei Bambini for ages 3-6 it has school stages, Lower Elementary for ages 6-9 and Upper Elementary for ages 9-12. About the fees Fees are counted over ten months from September to June: Casa half-day 6790 EUR, Casa full-day 8990 EUR, Elementary 9790 EUR. Reductions: 15 per cent for a second child, 25 per cent for a third and further children, up to 35 per cent for families with a monthly income below 3000 EUR, 5 per cent for paying the year in advance.
Admissions The school says it will guide children of all nationalities and sets no condition of citizenship or residence. It takes children from two years and ten months to twelve years; siblings of current pupils may be taken from two years and seven or eight months if teachers confirm the child's readiness. From four years and six months a Casa applicant must be fluent in English, and in Elementary all applicants must be fluent in English because lessons are taught in it. Applications go on a waiting list; a completed application form, a parent questionnaire and school reports are required, and for Elementary also teacher references and standardised test results.
