Lycée Louis Massignon has been running in Abu Dhabi since 1972 and was the first French school in the emirate. It is a directly managed AEFE school, homologated by the French education ministry and under the authority of the French embassy; ADEK places it in the "Very good" category - the authority's most recent inspection came in spring 2025, when inspectors spent five days observing more than a hundred and twenty lessons. The school takes a child from the kindergarten to the final year and ends with the French baccalauréat: in 2025 every candidate passed. It teaches five languages, three of them - French, English and Arabic - from the kindergarten onwards. From grade 1 there is a British international section with native-speaker teachers leading to the French international baccalauréat (BFI); from the fifth year of collège German or Spanish is added, and from CM2 there is an introduction to a third language, one language per term. Arabic is split into mother-tongue and foreign-language streams with different timetables. For children who do not speak French there is an FLSco service. The staff numbers more than two hundred and forty, mostly established employees of the French education ministry. The school hosts the regional training institute for the whole Middle East zone - thirty-nine schools - and serves as the baccalauréat deliberation centre for nine countries.

Admissions Admission goes through the Eduka platform, and the school separately invites families to book a visit and see the campus before applying. Weak French is no obstacle: there is an FLSco service - French as a foreign language and as the language of schooling - working mainly in the kindergarten and lower primary, where the language is picked up naturally and fast.
Stages and year groups Grades kindergarten - final year (Terminale). The stages run straight through from kindergarten to the final year on the French system: maternelle, élémentaire, collège, lycée. The British international section opens in grade 1 and runs to the final year, with the international DNBI certificate in the ninth year and the French international baccalauréat (BFI) at the end.

Campus: A campus on Rabdan Street. The kindergarten is a separate bioclimatic building opened in 2019, which the school calls its architectural signature. There are three separate reading spaces by stage with collections in French, Arabic and English, singled out by the ADEK inspection. The canteen is run by the provider Novotel, with access through the Direct School Education app and a 20-dirham card activation. School buses carry children from the age of three, each bus has a supervisor as well as a driver, the journey is guaranteed to stay under sixty minutes, and the timetable is aligned with after-school activities.
