A private British international school in Tortosa, in the south of the province of Tarragona, opened in 2018. It teaches the National Curriculum for England, supplemented by its own programme in Catalan and Spanish language, history, geography and culture; the language of instruction is English, as the school states directly. It takes children from age 3: Early Years (ages 3-5), primary school (6-11), secondary school from Year 7 to Year 11, which has run since 2020, and the upper stage: the school has announced the opening of Year 12 with an A Level course, three or four subjects at AS level and three of them at A Level in Year 13. The school writes that it is accredited by NABSS (the National Association of British Schools in Spain) and by the education department of Catalonia, so leavers receive qualifications for further study both in Spain and in the UK. It teaches through themes and projects chosen from the pupils' own interests, with an emphasis on active learning and small groups; in the upper years, English and at least two other languages and a course of personal, social and emotional education. The school belongs to the Czech education group Consilium, which has schools in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia and Spain. The school day in Early Years and primary runs from 8:55 to 14:05, in secondary from 8:30 to 15:15; after lessons there is after-school care until 17:00. The fee is monthly and published on the site.

About the fees The school publishes its fees as a table, monthly. Early Years and primary school: 489 euros a month for a school day from 8:55 to 14:05. Secondary school: 529 euros a month for a day from 8:30 to 15:15; the same column also gives a price of 600 euros a month for the upper stage (bachillerato or A Level, ages 16-18). For each further child from a family there is a 10 per cent discount on the monthly fee. Lunch costs 6 euros a day, after-school care from 14:05 to 17:00 for regular use costs 10 euros a day in primary; for the secondary and upper stages the same row gives 8 and 6 euros a day. The school does not say over how many months a year the fee is charged.
Admissions After the application form is completed the school invites the family and gets to know each future pupil in person; for a transfer from another school it asks for the latest school report. The pre-registration form for the 2026-2027 school year is posted on the documents page. On entry to primary or secondary school a one-off entry fee is paid. The school names no other requirements for applicants.
Stages and year groups Grades Early Years (age 3) - Year 13. Stages: Early Years for children aged 3-5 across the seven areas of the British early years programme; primary school for ages 6-11 on the National Curriculum for England with Catalan and Spanish language, history, geography and culture added; secondary school from Year 7 to Year 11, opened in 2020; the upper stage from Year 12, where pupils take three or four subjects at AS level and continue three of them at A Level in Year 13. The school writes of small groups and says that even in a small upper group the choice of subjects is wide, but gives no class size as a number.

What stands behind each entry

PearsonPearson Edexcel, a British exam board

It gives a school approved centre status: that means Pearson exams can be sat in the school itself. What is checked is the premises, the equipment, the secure storage of papers and the presence of trained invigilators.

What the badge means for this school. The school can run Pearson exams on its own premises. The status says nothing about teaching, about results or about the school itself: any school able to run an exam securely holds it. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. Which Pearson qualifications this school is approved for is not stated here.

NABSSschool network

NABSS (National Association of British Schools in Spain) is not an owner of schools but an association of British schools in Spain, founded in 1978 by a group of leading British schools in the country. According to the association, it has more than 80 member schools, which educate more than 49,000 children and employ more than 5,000 teachers. Only schools officially authorised by the Spanish authorities as foreign schools teaching the British education system and certified by the British Council after inspections can be members; new schools that are still developing are not admitted straight away. The association represents the schools' common interests, encourages collaboration between them and holds an annual conference; its school finder places member schools in Madrid, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Andalusia, the Balearic and Canary Islands, Murcia and other regions. The association's site is nabss.org.

What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

Reviews

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
